"If anything happens to Julia, you're a murderer!"
Sherry exploded in anger.
"Julia's a grown woman! What does her disappearance have to do with me? Am I her mother? You're completely insane—why are you blaming this on me?"
"You're still pretending? Trying to wash your hands of it?" Gilbert said in disbelief. "Was Julia at Harrison Entertainment today?"
"So what if she was? Do you think I kidnapped her?"
"Stop playing dumb! You bullied her. She's strong, but she left your building crying.
She's gentle and kind—how could you do that to her? Do you even have a heart?"
"Crying?" Sherry froze for a second, then burst out laughing.
"Crying? How dare she run out crying? You know she was crying, but you don't even know where she went?"
"Fans took photos outside the gate. Otherwise, I'd never have known she's missing! The only person in this world who would hurt Julia is you! Don't tell me you didn't do it! What did you do to her?
"You must have hit her—really hard. She didn't even cry the last time you hurt her. Did you send someone to attack her?"
Horrible images flashed through his mind. Gilbert's face turned pale and livid.
"Sherry, did you do that kind of thing to her? Julia's strong about everything—except her dignity.
"She's not like girls like you, who don't know shame and mess around with men. Julia knows how to keep her distance! So you must have paid men to hurt her. If you did that, I'll kill you."
He wasn't just threatening her. He meant every word.
When people are obsessed, they turn cruel and ruthless, yet never see themselves as the bad ones.
They'll say you forced them. That's how selfish people always are.
Sherry went from shocked to numb in an instant.
"Funny you say that. Weren't you the one who wanted to move in with me? If I'm cheap, you're cheaper.
"You're not just cheap—you're an idiot. You're slandering me with nonsense. This time, you're the one who should be locked up."
She hung up immediately.
Gilbert screamed and called again and again, making it impossible for Sherry to pay for her food.
How could she eat at a time like this?
He swatted the food and drinks out of her hands and stomped on them repeatedly.
Sherry was so thirsty that her lips were cracked. Her blood sugar was low, and her whole body trembled.
That was why her hands had been unsteady when paying earlier.
She'd just finished arguing with Gilbert.
Ironically, the worse she felt during the shoot, the better the camera loved it.
Now, already weak, she felt even more drained.
As she stared at her food being crushed under his foot, her mind went completely blank.
Gilbert kept lecturing her like he was in the right. "You can't be this selfish. Julia hasn't eaten a single bite. You don't deserve to eat either.
"I had people watching online, otherwise I would've never known she'd been missing this long. I've been searching all afternoon. I skipped lunch and dinner. How dare you eat?"
