They were completely stunned, frozen in place.
How could anyone be this handsome?
It was almost unreal. Especially that smile—lazy, dangerous, breathtaking.
That shift from ice-cold to bad-boy charming—if Teresa saw him right now, she'd be knocked senseless.
"Did you hear that?" Lucas said calmly. "Sherry doesn't want to see her."
At that exact line, the hospital director rushed over.
He'd been watching from a distance, already informed of everything.
"Miss, I'm sorry. You need to leave."
Julia hadn't even finished enjoying her little victory before she was slapped down again.
"How dare you! You can't kick a patient out! Do you know who I am?!"
"Mr. Bode, I'm not asking you to leave. But this lady must.
"If you refuse, I'll call security. You're clearly unharmed and just causing a scene."
Julia snapped, "Wanna bet I expose your hospital?"
The director looked at her coldly. "Sorry, we don't have a dental department. We can't help with your... tooth. So quit making a scene."
Julia trembled with rage.
"No dentistry? In a hospital this size?!"
"Yes," the director said smoothly. "As of right now, we don't."
At that moment, the dental sign was being taken down.
In its place? A sign for proctology.
Julia stared in disbelief.
Even Sherry was shocked. They really just changed the entire department.
The speed was terrifying. Had he been waiting for her to speak?
Julia's only issue was her missing tooth. Making a scene here would only make her look more ridiculous.
She was escorted out immediately.
Gilbert wasn't removed—but without Julia, there was nothing for him to do.
Cathy stamped her foot in frustration and turned to Heather. "Miss Harrison, please, he's your family!"
Heather laughed awkwardly, "Lucas, you don't have to humiliate her like this..."
She talked and talked, but Lucas didn't even bother to answer.
