He used to think Sherry was being unreasonable. But everyone thought he and Wendy were having an affair. Was he really wrong?

“But I really do love Sherry!”

How could he not love her? They’d been through the toughest times together.

During his most difficult times, Sherry was always by his side.

Back then, he thought that no matter what happened, Sherry would never leave him.

But would she really never leave?

He didn’t even know where Sherry was. What’s heartbreaking was that he didn’t know what she liked or where she wanted to go either.

He always thought that love between two people doesn’t need to be dramatic. A steady, long-lasting companionship is enough.

Weren’t his parents like that? If it weren’t for that incident, they would still be living a simple, but mutually caring life.

Did Sherry also like those superficial formalities?

He thought only immature girls like Wendy liked that.

Were those things really that important?

He felt that companionship and their good health were the most important things.

If Sherry liked it, he could celebrate all sorts of holidays with her. He remembered someone saying that girls dislike celebrating their birthdays as they get older because it makes them feel older. He assumed Sherry didn’t like it either.

These things weren’t big deals.

But he had definitely made a mistake regarding their wedding anniversary.

At least he should have been with Sherry that day.

He decided that no matter what happened on their anniversary this year, he would spend it with her!

Celebrating their anniversary together would make her very happy.

It would be their anniversary soon. This time, he would throw a grand party that Sherry would love.

“Gilbert, we’ve found her.”

Gilbert frowned. “Call her Mrs. Bode!” But his eyes lit up the next second upon hearing this news. “Where

is she?”

“On the Royal Caribbean cruise ship. A seven-day trip. The ship has already sailed off. There’s no way to get it back now…”

Gilbert immediately rushed out to make arrangements.

Sherry stood on the deck, enjoying the sea breeze.

A message notification popped up on her phone. That familiar person on Facebook had mentioned her again.

The photo showed Gilbert turning around to drape a coat over her. Their heads were very close, almost kissing.

There was also a photo taken from the bed through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The caption read, “Thank you for being there for me during this important time.”

The post was published in the early hours of the morning.

Looking closely, she could see clothes scattered on the floor in the photo. What that meant was clear to all adults.

Yelena came over and hugged Sherry. “Sherry, if you feel sad, just cry.”

Sherry shook her head. “It’s okay. I’m not sad anymore.”

“You can fool others, but you can’t fool me. I know how angry you are, just as heartbroken you are.”

Sherry didn’t know how to express her needs through coquetry.

Whenever she was angry, it was also when she was in the most pain. The angrier she was, the more heartbroken she was.

“Cry?” Sherry forced a smile that was even uglier than crying. “Crying will get me beaten. And I can’t even show any sadness. Yelena, they didn’t let me cry or be sad. I could only secretly cry under the covers. But I couldn’t cry too much. Otherwise, if there were tear stains on the blanket, they would think I was dirty and beat me up again.”

Sherry clutched the hem of her clothes, her whole body trembling uncontrollably. But she stubbornly refused to shed a tear.
