It’s not like he doesn’t love Sherry anymore. Did she really have to make such a fuss?
“Do you think I’m biased towards Wendy and that’s why you’re creating trouble to upset everyone? I told you I used this camera to repay the debt we owed the Mack family. Why can’t you understand my difficulties?”
Sherry said, word by word, “First of all, that’s what you owe them. Why should you use my things to repay them? I don’t owe them anything. What gives you the right to be so self-righteous?”
Gilbert was taken aback, then frowned. “What do you mean by that? You’re my wife.”
Sherry smiled sarcastically. “Wife? I was always there when you suffered. But I didn’t enjoy the good times you had. That’s not what a wife is. Do you think I only deserve to suffer?”
“Sherry, how could you think of me like that?” Gilbert felt incredibly hurt. How could she think of him like that?
He worked so hard to develop the Bode Group for Sherry.
“When I told you I wanted to leave the Campbells, I asked you to set up a company for me, to be my backing. You always told me to wait. I waited and waited, then Wendy got it. You built her a Splendor Villa. What did I get in return?”
Gilbert felt this wasn’t even a problem. She didn’t need to make this comparison.
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t give you what you wanted.”
They were still young. They had plenty of time to build a home even bigger than Splendor Villa.
Then he would take Sherry’s hand and present her to everyone, showing them the most perfect version of his wife, how outstanding and beautiful she was.
“Will I see this before I die? I don’t trust you!”
She didn’t trust him?
“You don’t trust me?” Gilbert felt a shock.
She could be disappointed and not understand him.
Why wouldn’t she believe him? Where did she place their love?
His heart ached as if needles were being driven into it.
“Why should I trust you? You’ve never trusted me!” Sherry looked at Gilbert sarcastically. “Those people you hired were sent away by your sister. Am I supposed to starve to death in the hospital if I don’t order
takeout?”
Gilbert then realized that the people he sent weren’t here. “Cathy wouldn’t do such a thing. At least she still

listens to me. Cathy is timid. You know that.”
Cathy was weak and unable to stand on her own, which was why she admired strong people.
How could she do such a thing?
Sherry knew it.
Cathy used to always cautiously hide behind them.

“So you think I drove those people away? Since you don’t trust me, what’s the point of talking about trust? You don’t trust me. So why should I trust you?”
Gilbert immediately took out his phone. “I’ve never thought of it that way. But the fact is, Cathy wouldn’t do that. She wouldn’t disobey anything I ask her to do.”
He believed what he saw. Cathy was so obedient.
Sherry, however, had changed quite a bit.
So he made a call, intending to convince her with facts.
“Luke, I told you to look after Mrs. Bode. Where are you?” His voice was stern.
Luke’s heart skipped a beat. Then he remembered Cathy’s words. “Ms. Bode told us to leave. It had nothing to do with us. We could only obey her order.”
Gilbert was incredulous. “What are you saying? Cathy never disobeys me. How could she let you leave?”
“She did tell us to leave. Otherwise, how could we dare leave?”
He was still framing Cathy. Gilbert was furious. “If you’re lying, I won’t let you get away with it! You know how the Bode Group deals with liars.”
Luke was also getting agitated. “I’m not lying. If you don’t believe me, ask the others who were there! We left because she told us to.”
