Guilt hung heavy over every member of the Jensen family.
Judith stood up, wiped her tears, and pointed straight at Yvette.

“Drop the act, Yvette. I came on to Brandon. I tried to force you into a divorce, and I own it. But what about you?
“Brandon showed up at the hotel and never touched me once. He spent the full two hours on the balcony video chatting with you.
“You knew he didn’t cheat. That’s why you trusted him, why you never wanted to end this marriage.
“Brandon turned my own scheme against me. He tanked his reputation just to defend you. You must be so smug right now.
“Aren’t you glad you’ve got a husband who defends you like this?”
Judith’s raw, unfiltered confession left the whole family stunned and seething.
Yvette brushed the tears from her eyes and stood her ground, facing Judith head–on.
“I don’t feel glad at all. If you’d never targeted me, he wouldn’t have had to ruin his own name. You still refuse to admit your faults and keep calling me fake. I’m the victim here. What reason do I have to pretend?”
Judith had no comeback.
Every person in the room finally put the whole picture together.
It no longer mattered whether Brandon had slept with Judith or not. If anyone asked, he would confirm it happened.
Nothing had actually taken place and he would never clear up the confusion.
He’d locked onto Judith’s fatal flaw, and he could hold it over her indefinitely.
As long as Judith stayed away from Yvette and kept her nose clean, Brandon would leave her career and reputation untouched.
One wrong move, and he could destroy her overnight.

None of the Jensens had a single word to say. Brandon took Yvette’s hand, grabbed the documents off the table, and spoke in a calm tone.
“We’re finishing this conversation here. Keep Judith and discipline her properly. I’m taking Yvette home.”
He led Yvette out of Jensen Villa.
Ralph scrambled to his feet.
“Brandon…”
Brandon paused, glancing back alongside Yvette.
“Take good care of her.” Ralph’s eyes glistened with tears. It pained him deeply to realize how much Yvette had suffered.
“I will.” Brandon spoke earnestly. “And I suggest every one of you remember that.”
With that line, he held Yvette’s hand and walked out without another glance.
They got in the car, and the driver pulled away from the curb.
Brandon’s mood soured. He sat rigidly in silence.
Yvette watched him anxiously, her throat tight. She reached out to touch his hand.
The second her fingers made contact, he pulled away, staring blankly out the window with clear irritation radiating off him.
“Brandon…” Yvette inched closer, trying again to hold his hand.
Brandon shot her a sharp, stern look.
“Don’t touch me.”
“I’m sorry.” Yvette’s voice was soft and shaky. “I didn’t mean to keep it a secret. I just…”
“You didn’t trust me, did you?” Brandon let out a quiet sigh. “Did you truly believe I’d leave you because you can’t have kids?”
Yvette nodded, then quickly shook her head. She stared up at him with watery eyes, completely at a loss.
The sight of her broke Brandon’s heart. His anger melted away instantly. He pulled her into his

“Don’t ever keep secrets from me again,” he mumbled against her hair.

“Okay,” Yvette murmured against his chest, her voice breaking. “But I can’t give you a baby.”
“I used to be an obstetrician,” Brandon said. “You went to another doctor instead of coming to me. What am I gonna do with you?”
Yvette wrapped both arms around his waist, crying softly into his chest.
“When we get home, let me look over your medical reports.”
Yvette nodded again.
“You still ovulate. With modern medical technology, we can have kids. There are alternative methods, okay?”
Yvette listened quietly, only partially understanding.
Brandon kissed the top of her head.
“If you didn’t ovulate at all, we’d skip having biological kids. We’d spoil Harper as our own. If you still want a baby that’s yours, we can always look into adoption.”
His sincere words sank deep into Yvette’s heart. Her tears soaked through his shirt as she clung to him, basking in his warmth.
