Chapter 477 His Vow
Julian couldn’t feel any real pain.
:
He patted his body all over, searching for an injury, but found nothing.
He shifted his foot and felt a dull throb in his knee. A faint sly smile tugged at his lips.

He faked a pained frown, propped himself up with one hand on Iris’s shoulder, and stared straight at her face.
“I think I hurt my leg,” he mumbled.
“Where?” Iris’s eyes locked on his knee.
Julian swallowed hard. Up close, she was breathtaking. She had soft skin, bright clear eyes, and
a sleek straight nose. Every strand of her hair looked flawless.
Iris rolled up his pant leg.
His knee was scraped raw, red but not bleeding.
She pulled out a band–aid, crouched down, and gently stuck it over the scrape.
“It’s nothing serious. If your knee still hurts later, tell your family and get it checked out.”
Julian froze in place.
By then, other students had picked up her scattered books and handed them back.
“Thank you,” she said to them politely.
She ignored Julian and kept walking.
“Wait.” Julian hurried forward and blocked her path.
Iris looked up at him. “What’s wrong?”
“Thanks for helping me. My name is-” Julian was just about to introduce himself.
“It’s fine,” she cut him off flatly. “Ride slower next time.”
She walked around him and headed into the school.

Julian turned to watch her retreating back. He couldn’t follow.
The gate of Oakridge High School stood between them.
It was an uncrossable line–not just a gate, but a huge gap in their grades and intellect.
Julian glanced up at the fancy school sign.
Top school, huh?
He made a firm promise to himself.
He was getting in here next year.
“Dad, get me the best tutors money can buy.”
Frederick stared at his son in pure shock.

Julian had barely walked through the door when he dropped this bizarre request, leaving the whole family stunned.
“Do you want a basketball coach? Or a piano teacher?” Frederick asked cautiously.
“Math, science, politics–every subject that can boost my grades.” Julian tossed his backpack aside, collapsed on the sofa, and zoned out.
Frederick pulled out his phone, clearly panicked.
“Tell me the truth. Did a teacher mess with you? I’ll handle them.”
Julian blinked at him, confused by the overreaction.
“Don’t be scared. I’ve got your back,” Frederick assured him.
“No one messed with me. I just want to study. I’m getting into Oakridge High School.” Julian sounded irritated.
Frederick walked over and touched his forehead.
“Are you feeling okay? Don’t scare me like this.”
Julian rolled his eyes and grabbed his bag.
“Dad, I’m getting into Oakridge High next year. Just pull some strings.”

“Oakridge High?” Frederick’s expression turned grave. “It’s the best school in the state. Money alone won’t get you in.”
“You handle the connections. I’ll handle the grades.” Julian spoke with unshakable confidence. “Good scores plus your connections will work.”
Frederick let out a laugh.
“You’re kidding, right? You’re dead last in your class. You think you can get into that top school? Life isn’t a video game–no cheats, no carryovers.”
Julian huffed, clearly annoyed.
“Then get me tutors sooner. I can’t waste a single minute.”
With that, he turned and headed upstairs.
Frederick stood there, completely dumbfounded.
No one expected Julian to mean every word.
Even his grandparents, retired chemistry professors, came to tutor him personally.
Every minute of his schedule was packed with teachers.
