"Chad Abernathy... you psychopath! You'll die a miserable death... You'll rot in hell!"
Caught completely off guard, Chad was tackled to the floor. Like a rabid hyena, Alexia clamped her teeth viciously onto the edge of his ear, brutally tearing a chunk of flesh right off!
A sickening pain shot through Chad's scalp, blackening his vision. He kicked wildly, his body thrashing in a desperate struggle.
But Alexia clung to him like a parasite; no matter how hard he fought, he couldn't shake her off!
With bloodshot eyes, she locked her jaw onto his ear like a mad dog.
She had been suppressed for so long, tamed for so long, controlled for so long.
Finally, she could enact her hysterical, unhinged revenge against this vile man. For the first time, she was fighting for herself.
Seeing that his entire ear was about to be ripped off, Chad desperately groped for the scattered leather whip nearby. In a frantic motion, he wrapped it around Alexia's neck and yanked it tight!
"Urgh... urgh!"
Alexia clawed at the leather strap choking her. The overwhelming suffocation wiped her mind blank. Her eyes bulged, and her pale complexion rapidly morphed into a horrifying, bruised purple!
"Help... help..." She couldn't form a single syllable. Her mouth was filled with blood, her eyes brimming with tears.
However, Chad had fully descended into a murderous frenzy.
The large hand gripping the whip continuously tightened, the veins on his knuckles popping with inhuman brutality.
Alexia's purple lips parted in a ghastly, unnatural gape. It was a tragic, horrifying sight.
"Sir! Are you alright, Sir?!"
Hearing the violent struggle, the secretary kicked the door open in sheer panic.
The moment he rushed in, Alexia's naked body slumped limply off Chad.
She collapsed onto the floor. Even in death, her bloodshot eyes remained wide open, staring blankly. Her once delicate face was now a withered, bruised shade of death.
She died with her eyes wide open, restless.
It seemed anyone who followed Chad Abernathy met a similarly restless end.
He secretly put a price tag on all their lives.
In the final second before she passed, her life must have flashed before her eyes. In that brief instant, she reviewed her entire existence.
Vanity and deceit were her original sins.
Perhaps, more than resenting her inferiority to Evadne, more than hating Chad for stripping away her humanity, she hated herself most of all.
She had been far luckier than Evadne. Back then, Thaddeus had truly loved her; he had been utterly devoted to her.
She had been fortunate enough to have him at his absolute best.
Yet, driven by her own selfish desires, she had personally shredded the happiness that was entirely within her grasp.
"Uh... it looks like a shootout between the two parties. Mutually assured destruction."
Aaron looked skeptical. "A shootout?"
"Yes. The three men in the black sedan were all shot in the head. The bullet caliber matches the gun held by the man in the other car. And the gun held by one of the men in the sedan perfectly matches the bullet found in the lone driver. Both sides tested positive for gunshot residue."
Aaron shot his subordinate a piercing look. "Three men in one car. One man in the other. All four dead from a single gunshot to the head. You tell me, who killed who first?"
The officer stuttered. "Ah, well..."
"If the three men in Car A fired first, the guy in Car B would be dead on the spot, and Car A would survive. If the guy in Car B fired first, what are the odds he took down three armed men in rapid succession?"
Aaron analyzed with cold precision. "Fine, let's assume he's a god-tier marksman and dropped all three. Then how did he die? If he missed even once, he would've been counter-attacked immediately. At least one of those three men should have survived."
"Maybe... there was a fifth person?"
"Exactly. There was a fifth person."
Aaron looked at him, exasperated. "You're only just realizing that?"
The officer scratched his head sheepishly.
As they spoke, Aaron reached the car and leaned down to peer inside.
Suddenly, his pupils contracted sharply. "This man... It's him?!"
