Beta Liam

We wait in silence for what feels like hours but still, he doesn’t turn up, we’re all slowly losing our patience and I’m fighting with Jonah not to shift and he’s losing his s**t and banging f**k out of my head because I won’t let him out.

“Alpha Calvin, I’ve just spoken with Alpha Marcus and he’s asked me to inform you that he’s had to leave on some last-minute pack business, he said you have the honour of deciding Jacoby’s fate.” What the f**k?

“Do you mean to tell me that on his first official business as Alpha he has f****d off on ‘Alpha business’?”

“Yes, I’m afraid so Alpha, I don’t know any details other than what I told you and that he’s left me in charge until he returns.” Beta John looks just as confused as us by Marcus’s actions.

“He’s run!” Comes the raspy voice of Jacoby.

“What was that?” Calvin steps closer to Jacoby, Jacoby looks ready to s**t himself and I don’t blame him Calvin is one scary fucker when he needs to be.

“He knows that Bethany knows why Zoe toke her, he came down here when I was brought in and Questioned me and I told him everything that happened, he then went on to say he was leaving for a while but that he would be back and he would get his Luna one way or another!” Oh, f**k no he didn’t!

“Hold on, what do you mean Alpha Marcus will get his Luna one way or another? He’s found his mate?” Beta John voices out while looking confused as f**k and I honestly believe this guy doesn’t have a clue about what’s gone on.

“No, he hasn’t found his mate, apparently he has decided that Bethany will be his chosen Luna!” Calvin spits out.

“But she’s a child…I don’t understand!” Beta John looks confused then pissed, seriously pissed and I’m starting to like this guy. Everyone is stuck in silence for a few minutes before Beta John finally breaks it.

“First of all, I want to send my deepest apologies to you Bethany, I am so sorry that two of my pack members put you through this!”

“It’s not your fault Beta John.” She gives him a gentle smile but I can see she’s struggling.

“Thank you, Bethany, however, this will be dealt with. Obviously, we all know that Zoe is dead but we still have this a*****e to deal with, does anyone have anything they’d like to say in regards to this?” Before anyone has a chance to react, she dives straight back in.

“Thank you for saving my life, Bethany!” Jacoby’s raspy voice quietly reaches my ears as I see her look down at him gently smiling his way.

“Your welcome Jacoby, you saved my life and I owed you, I’m sorry you will be a Rogue again but I hope you have learned from this and don’t try to hurt any more innocent people.” He quickly assures her he won’t be doing that again, she doesn’t say any more, just nods his way and makes her way out of the basement but I can’t help but feel like this isn’t the last time I will see Jacoby, for some reason it feels like there’s unfinished business and I don’t f*****g like it!

Calvin sends out a mass link to all our pack members to be in the kitchen straight away and thankfully by the time we get there they are all there and ready for us!

“Ok everyone, I want you all packed up and, in the SUVs ready to leave in 30 minutes, we’re not hanging around here any longer than needed! I know some of you are wondering what’s happened but there’s no time to explain, I want us out of here asap! I will debrief everyone once we are back home.” Everyone quickly agrees and leaves to get ready.

Within 20 minutes everyone is in the SUVs and ready to go and I’m grateful for it, I want my girl away from here now! me and Cal are last to pile in our SUV, Cal slips in beside Brooke and I thank my stars when Bethany calls me over to sit with her.

Within half an hour of us leaving the rental home Bethany falls asleep, she moves to get comfy in her sleep resulting in her laying down with her head in my lap and her legs against the Window and for the first time since we arrived here,

I finally feel calm, she shivers in her sleep, feeling her cheeks she feels cold so I grab the blanket that’s folded on the floor and cover her over, she snuggles into the blanket and into me more causing Jonah to start relentlessly purring in my head. Once she’s comfy I get myself settled and the last 24 hours suddenly hit me as I fall into a deep sleep with my girl by my side.
