Beta Liam

This ceremony has been amazing and finally, Brooke is officially our Luna, to me, she’s always been our Luna but it’s great to have everyone know it, Calvin is beaming with pride and I don’t blame him, I can’t wait until the day I can officially announce Bethany as my Beta female, I just need these next few years to go by fast…seriously fast!

I’m sitting at the table sipping on a whiskey on the rocks while chatting with Jack and Calvin while we watch Brooke, Beth and Ashley dance their asses off with some of the other she-wolfs to Neyo’s time of our lives and I’d be lying if I said Bethany wasn’t looking breathtaking today!

“How are you doing with everything man?” Jack shouts over the music to me but before I can answer him a young, she-wolf I don’t recognize shows up beside the table with drinks on a tray.

“Excuse me, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Alpha Romero asked me to bring these drinks over to you as a small thank you for this evening!” We all look over to his table as he gives us a nod and smile and we take the drinks from the she-wolf and thank her, it’s not unusual for an Alpha to send drinks to another Alpha’s table out of respect so none of us thinks anything of it as we carry on chatting.

The girls come to sit down soon after thirsty from all the dancing and a few of them head to the bar to get some drinks in while Brooke sits in Calvin’s lap, Ashley sits in Jack’s lap and a few of the other mated couples soon follow, it’s nothing I haven’t seen a thousand times but right at this very moment it brings out an anger in me, I want that!

I want my mate! I want Bethany and I just don’t know how much longer I can do this! I need to leave the table before she notices anything so I make my excuses and quickly leave, I don’t know where I’m going but I need to get away from everyone before I say or do something I’ll regret, I’m quickly outside and without even realizing it I’m heading for the woods.

“Wait up!” I turn to see Jack running towards me.

“We’re going for a run, are we?” He asks letting me know he’s including himself in the run.

“I’m not up for talking right now Jack!” He knows I don’t mean anything bad by it.

“Good because I came here to run not to talk.” He throws me a wink before quickly stripping off, I love this guy, I join him in quickly stripping and we both shift into our wolves and run for the forest…

…1 hour later and finally I’m feeling a lot calmer, we slow down to a walk and head for the lake not far away, once there we both lap at the water before shifting back and sitting next to the lake.

“Don’t tell Ashley we sat here naked together, he’ll only accuse me of trying to steal you from him!” He rolls his eyes at me with the biggest grin on his face and I can’t hold back my laugh, they have one incredible relationship and it’s lovely to watch.

“b***h please you could never replace my Ashley!” I say with sass and now he’s the one laughing. My happiness is soon clouded by gut-reaching pain as my reality sets back in and I slump down further into the grass letting out a loud groan.

“I’m guessing this is to do with Bethany?” He raises an eyebrow my way challenging me to say different because he already knows he’s right and I don’t even bother trying to deny it.

“f**k Jack it’s so Goddam hard!” I ball my fist up but fight back the urge to punch the floor.

“Liam I’m not even going to pretend to try and understand what you’re going through because I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like for you but I can see it slowly tearing you apart and I’m worried about you man!” He shows nothing but concern for me and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

“It’s strange because most days I’m fine, don’t get me wrong it’s always on my mind but I make it through the day but then other days the smallest thing can trigger me and an anger burns through my veins that I can’t explain and I just want to destroy everything in front of me and I don’t like how I feel or who I become when it happens!”

“Look, Cal pulled me into his office earlier while you were up the clifftop with Beth, the Rogues at the blue mountain pack are getting out of control, yesterday they attacked a child!”

“A child! Are you f*****g kidding me?” These Rouges have been giving Alpha Pickard trouble for months and it doesn’t matter what they do they just can’t get rid of them, he doesn’t even know what they want, he’s not received any requests or threats of them they just keep attacking him.

I’m guessing they want his land but to attack a child is a whole new level of low! We are allies and they informed us of these attacks when they began.

“I wish I was man; I wish I was, Cal said he’ll be updating you in the morning but there’s a reason why I’m telling you now…Cal has asked me and Ashley to go there, take warriors with us and turn them, Rogues, into ash.

“We have no problem with going, the fact that they are hurting kids has both me and Ashley riled up and Ashley may be the more soft one of us in our relationship but we both know he’s a f*****g demon when it comes to fighting!” We both let out a chuckle while

I agree with him when Ashley’s pissed, he isn’t one to be messed with, he’s put me on my a*s more than once in training.

“So, the reason that I’m telling you now is that Cal has said this could be a long trip, it 2 days travel to get there and we could be gone a couple of months maybe more. What if you go instead of us? I can cover your Beta duties for you and you know we’ll all look after Beth.
