I’m laying in bed with my beautiful mate on one arm and little Bella on my other arm, they’re both fast asleep while I watch a movie on Netflix. Brooke wanted Beth to have some time to herself tonight while she takes everything in so we brought Bella in with us,

we always cuddle up in bed until she’s sleeping then put her in her cot.

Laying here with these two beautiful girls in my arms always makes me think about when we’ll have pups, of course, nothing will take away Bella’s place in our hearts, I love her like she’s my own, God I feel like she is mine and she will always be treated the same as any pups we have and honestly, I think she’ll always have a special place in my heart because of how she came here and how she’s turned me into a dad before I’ve even had any pups.

*Knock knock*

Who’s that at this time? I get up as quick as I can without disturbing the girls before there’s another knock and quickly open the door to find Bethany standing there and she looks seriously pissed off.

“Beth, what’s wrong?”

“I need to talk to you and it can’t wait until the morning!” Her words are firm and make me instantly nervous and I just hope she hasn’t found out about Liam and her being mates.

“Ok let me put Bella in her crib and I’ll meet you in the lounge, Brooke’s sleeping do I need to wake her?” She shakes her head no before turning away towards the lounge without another word, s**t this isn’t good!

Once I’ve got Bella tucked in, I pull the covers over Brooke and head for the lounge dreading what Bethany’s going to say, today’s already been a s**t fest I don’t need anything else added to it.

When I arrive in the lounge Bethany is sitting in the chair staring down at her hands while she interlocks her fingers and I know it’s not a good sign, I take a seat in the chair across from her and give her a minute to compose herself.

“Bethany, what’s wrong sweetheart?” She doesn’t say a word, just keeps looking at her hands.

“Bethany, you know you can talk to me about anything!” Finally, she looks up with a mixture of sadness fear, and anger spread across her face and it pulls at my heart.

“I couldn’t settle so I went for a walk, I ended up by the pack hospital and decided to go and speak to doc about Bella, I’ve been wondering why she got sick” holy f**k…Jacoby! I try to keep my face natural but I think it’s too late, she’s staring at me and suddenly gets a strange look on her face.

“You know!” f**k what do I do? I decide to be honest, lying isn’t going to help me here and she deserves the truth.

“Yes, but I swear this is the first night he’s been here.”

“I want to know everything; I think I deserve to know why my kidnapper is sleeping minutes away from my home and I didn’t have a clue!” She’s right obviously so I keep with the honest route and tell her everything me and Jack know so far including the phone call

I had with the Elders about him joining our pack.

I assure her she would have found out and that I was just waiting until I find out some more myself first before bringing her into this, she seems to calm down a lot once I tell her, her anger and fear quickly disappear and she actually thanks me.

“Now that you know I won’t hide anything about him from you ok Beth? Do you want to be there with me when he wakes up?”

“Yes, I do, thank you, Calvin, I’m sorry for how I acted, it was rude and disrespectful and I shouldn’t have behaved that way.” Poor girl, I’m surprised she was as calm as she was, to be honest. I make sure she knows everything is ok and we talk for a little while before we both say goodnight and she heads for her room.

I feel myself being pulled from my sleep, groggy and dazed when I feel someone trying to link me, I check the time 10.35 pm and start to worry, someone mind linking me this late can’t be good so I concentrate on the link and finally, it becomes clear.

“Ashley, it’s Bethany, are you awake?” Oh god, I hope nothing is wrong.

“Bethany, is everything ok baby girl?”
