Beta Liam

The moment we hear the explosion my first thought is of Bethany, what the f**k is wrong with me? It should be with Sarah but we were just talking about Bethany so I’m going to put it down to that.

We’re outside in seconds and I quickly find Sarah huddled under a table, shaking and crying, I scoop her up and pull her into me hating myself the whole time because I’m still thinking about Bethany. I scan the room as quickly as I can and finally find her, Jakes got her wrapped up in his arms and I instantly feel my anger re-surfing, f**k! I can’t deal with this right now I need to be in Beta mode.

“Sarah, I need you to head to our floor with one of the warriors, don’t leave there until I tell you to ok? Take someone with you if you’d like!”

“I want you to come with me!” She knows I can’t but I get that she’s scared and no matter what my feelings are I hate to see any women scared or upset.

“I can’t babe, I need to get to the Alpha so we can find out what’s going on, you’ll be safe with the warriors and I’ll be there as soon as I can!”

“Are you f*****g kidding me, Liam, I am your mate and I come first before anyone in this world including the f*****g Alpha and you will come with me right now!” I fight to hold back a growl at her disrespecting my Alpha and losing my s**t with her.

I don’t have the time or patience for this bollocks so I just grab a guard and ask him to escort her to my floor before walking off towards Cal while she screams s**t my way that I have no intention of listening to.

Cal, Jack, Ashley and I had only just started talking when he gets a link and he instantly starts shaking, anger and power radiating from him and I know I’m not going to like this.

”JACOBY IS MISSING!” He bellows out, I suddenly feel furious but I don’t fully understand why.”

“Liam, I know your confused but right now I need you to think of Jacoby as a possible enemy, but he’s not to be killed, not yet anyway!” Thankfully I know what he looks like but it’s f*****g pissing me off that I can’t remember s**t about him, I always remember, even more so when they are possible enemies. I swallow down my feelings and get back to the task in hand as we head out of the party and towards the pack hospital.

We come around the side of the packhouse and we’re all stopped in our tracks by the sight before us, holy f**k! I guess this explains the explosion we heard, there are fallen trees all over the place, two cars on fire and patches of grass are alight, I can see some bodies on the floor and instantly my heart starts hammering and my pulse quickens.

I sent some of our warriors to check the bodies while we continue forwards, we soon reach the hospital and docs waiting at the door for us while injured wolves are making their way inside the building.

“Doc, update!” Cals in Alpha mode and there’s no time for messing around.

“I was in my office when I heard a massive explosion, I quickly made my way around checking on all my patients and that’s when I saw that Jacoby was gone Alpha!”

“Why wasn’t I informed that he was awake?”

“He wasn’t Alpha. I was in his room ten minutes before this happened and he was still in a coma. Alpha there’s no way he woke up and was able to get away from here that quickly, even if he could walk straight away, he’d be slow and he wouldn’t have got far, I fear he’s been taken!”

“f**k!”

Bethany

The moment the sound of the explosion reached my ears and the shock rumbled through the ground to my feet I was instantly taken back to the day my old pack was attacked, the feeling that I was about to lose everyone quickly resurfacing, I swallow the bile rising in my throat as I relive everything.

“Are you ok sweetheart?” Brooke comes up behind me as I look out of the window of her living room facing the parklands, I know she knows what’s on my mind and as always, she’s right beside me when I need her most.

“I’m ok Brooke!” Her look says she doesn’t believe me.

“Honestly I’m ok sis, it brought back memories for a moment but I’m ok now, just praying everyone is ok. Any way you…when were you going to inform me that I’m going to be an Auntie again hmm?” I give her my teasing smile and thankfully it seems enough to take the attention away from me.
