It’s early morning but I’m up, showered and dressed by 5.30 am, I’ve barely slept but I don’t even feel tired, it’s my girl’s birthday today, she is 16, 16.. 2 more years and she’ll be all mine and I can’t f*****g wait! I’m torn between happiness that she’s finally another year older and sadness that I still have another 2 years to go, it’s all I’ve thought about all night.

I decide to head out for a walk before I can see her but as I arrive on the Gamma floor I can hear Willow’s cries, loud and angry, the poor girl is teething and struggling with it bad, it seemed like the moment Ashley and Jack finally got her settled and she started sleeping almost all night her teeth kicked in and now their back to square one.

“Guys, which one of you is up?” I link them both.

“We both are, is everything ok?” Jack quickly links back.

“Yeah, I’m on your floor!” Within seconds the door opens and poor Jack looks exhausted while Ashley is leaning on the counter half asleep making coffee, they both look like they could cry!

“What’s going on? Why are you out so early?”

“I couldn’t sleep, was heading out for a walk before breakfast when I heard the princess!”

“She’s barely slept, we’ve done everything we can for her, I just wish we could take the pain away!” These two are both suffering from serious dad guilt! I walk over to Jack and scoop willow up and bring her to my chest as she wails and kicks out.

“You two get yourselves back to bed, I’ve got this little one!”

“It’s ok, we’re fine!” Ashley barely gets out.

“That’s a lovely story, now bed, both of you! I’ll get her dressed and take her out for some fresh air while you too get some rest, we’ve got a party to attend tonight and I expect you to be looking sexy and ready to shake your fine booty for me!” I shoot him a wink which he quickly returns with a cheeky air kiss as Jack just chuckles out at our usual antics.

“Oh, baby I’m always ready!”

“Good glad to hear it, now bed!” They don’t even try to argue with me this time, they just kiss Willow, thank me and head for the bedroom.

“She’s due a bottle in one hour!” Jack hollas back.

I make quick work of getting her wrapped up warm, make 2 bottles and pop her in her stroller, I check I have the essentials for her before we leave the Gamma floor and head outside, the fresh air will do her good and even if it doesn’t settle her at least Jack and

Ashley can get some sleep while I try and settle the little beauty in front of me.

1 hour later, we are making our way up to my floor when I get a link from Cal telling me to head to his, willow finally stopped crying and went to sleep 30 minutes ago which is great for her, she needs the sleep so much that I’m not waking her up for her bottle, she’ll wake up when she’s ready to eat.

We arrive at Cal’s to find the lounge full of balloons and banners and a stack of presents under the window. I hear a giggling Bella and look across to see her being entertained by Rose’s bubbly almost 3-year-old daughter Danielle! I leave willow in her stroller while she’s still sleeping and head over to the kitchen where Calvin is already making the coffees. “Where’s my little wolf?” I have to watch my words in front of Danielle, she’s a smart cookie and kids will grass you up as quick as look at you.

“She’s in her bedroom, made her promise not to come out until I say… I can’t believe she’s 16, 2 more years brother!” I hope these next 2 years go by quick because this is getting harder and harder every day.

“Can I ave a drwink peas afa cavin!” Danielle looks up to us both, she has big brown eyes and the cutest face.

“Of course angel, go sit down and I’ll bring you some juice!”

“Fank you!” Her cute baby talk always melts my heart! A few days after we found her and her mom, Rose told us her story and it was heartbreaking, luckily Danielle doesn’t know that much and so it had little long term effect on her but Rose…I’m not sure if she’ll ever trust another man.

They are both incredible and became official pack members within 2 months, Rose started training with the warriors and she’s doing incredible while little Danielle has fitted herself in with the kids like she’s always belonged here.

30 minutes later and everything is ready me, Calvin, Brooke, Rose, and the kids are all in the lounge waiting on Jack and Ashley to arrive before Beth can come in, they soon arrive and Ashley wastes no time in stealing a now awake willow out of my arms, Jack takes a sleeping Levi from Calvin and they snuggle up on the love chair together.

Rose has gone with a similar dress to mine but hers is a blue floral colour, her deep red hair has been straightened and put up in a high ponytail, her makeup beautifully done and she’s got black heeled shoes bringing her some height, I know she hates how short she is but I’m so glad she’s finally showing off her beauty, it’s a sin to hide it away.

Variety and Harriet are minding the kids while we eat so everyone can relax and soon, we head downstairs but the moment we reach the bottom of the stairs Katie covers my eyes with a blindfold, not tight enough to disturb my makeup but enough to stop me from seeing anything, what the hell are they up to?

She takes hold of my hands and starts pulling me along, it feels like we’ve been walking for ages but I know it’s only been minutes before she stops me, I can’t see or hear anything and it’s strange, this place is never silent!

Finally, she removes my blindfold and the second my eyesight goes back to normal I hear screams of surprise and I see bodies jumping out in front of me, scaring the s**t out of me! I let out a gasp followed by uncontrollable laughter as everyone starts to crowd me with hugs and birthday wishes.

Once I’ve made it through the crowd of people I find them, Calvin, Liam, Jack and Ashley waiting for their turn and I’m quick to reach them with hugs and thank you, I can’t believe they have thrown me a party, I really wasn’t expecting it but I absolutely love it already.

The party has been set up outside under a massive gazebo, the ceiling is covered in fairy lights, there’s a DJ set up in front of a huge light-up dance floor and rows of tables and chairs are covered in pink table clothes, outside of the gazebo there are 6 bbq grills cooking up a storm, it’s very similar to Ashley’s party but a little less dramatic.

The music quickly picks up and before my a*s has even reached a seat, I’m being pulled up to the dance floor by a very over-excited Ashley and Katie, we’re soon joined by Brooke and Rose and that’s where we remain for 6 songs before we desperately need a drink and a seat!

Arriving back at the table everyone takes a seat and I soon realise there’s no chair for me, I look around but I don’t see any empty ones I can use either, I hear someone call me and look across the table to see it was Jake.

“You can come and sit here on my lap Bethany, I don’t mind!” That’s pretty forward for Jake and I thought he was over his crush on me but now I’m not so sure, but one thing I am sure of is I don’t want to sit on his lap.

Before I can even reply I get pulled down until I’m sitting sideways on someone else’s lap, I gasp and look up to find it was Liam who pulled me onto his lap and I quickly notice he is staring at Jake and I feel his body tense underneath me.

“What’s wrong?”

“He’s been drinking…. a lot and I don’t want you near him when he’s like that, you don’t have to stay here with me but please stay away from him sweetheart!” His look is pleading and it causes a pull inside my stomach. I give him a smile and get comfy on his lap letting him know that I am staying here, I should move for my own sanity if nothing else but I can’t, I don’t want to!

It’s my birthday, my party and I’m going to be selfish for a little while and enjoy this closeness with my never-ending crush!
