He doesn’t think I’ve been watching him tonight but I have, from the moment the girls arrived he started drooling at my girl like she was a juicy piece of meat, Cal noticed too and was quick to bring me out of my anger before I tore his throat out!

He was drunk arriving at the party which isn’t a great sign but he won’t do anything to anyone because both me and Cal are staying sobber and alert tonight and I’ve got my eyes firmly on him.

I hate the feeling it gives me when I see him drooling over Bethany, I know she’s my mate but she doesn’t and there’s always a small part of me that worries that she’ll become interested in someone until she’s is of age, it does happen.

Wolves have boyfriends and girlfriends until they find their mates and I’m not ashamed to admit that the idea of that happening with my girl terrifies me! She’s mine, my mate and just the thought of someone else touching her in any way makes me want to tear the place apart.

I bring my burning anger in to check before anyone can notice only for him to offer Beth a seat on his f*****g lap the minute he realises she doesn’t have a chair, it ain’t f*****g happening!

I’m not sure if I do it without thinking or on instinct but before I can stop myself I pull her down so she’s sitting sideways on my lap and thank the f*****g moon goddess she stays there! before I can say something to that prick that I won’t regret but he properly will I’m distracted by Brooke’s soothing Luna voice!

Brooke: “Have you had a good day, Beth?”

Beth: “I have, it’s been so much fun, thank you everyone for making it special for me!”

Ashley: “Girl, you know me any excuse for a parrttyyy!” As usual, he has everyone laughing!

Brooke: “I can’t believe how quick this past year has gone!”

Calvin: “Me neither, or how much has changed!”

“It’s insane to think that just over a year ago there wasn’t one baby between us and now there’s 3 plus our little Danielle!” The fact that I’ve also found my mate in that time stays on the tip of my tongue despite how much I want the world to know.

Rose: “Since Dani and I arrived one thing I noticed very quickly was how much of a family everyone is, this pack is not just a pack but a family and all of you guys sitting around this table are a tight family, no one is ever alone with any problems, you raise your babies together, you always protect each other no matter what and I’ve never heard any of you complain, it’s humbling to watch and I love how you live your lives!”

Hearing them words from Rose makes my heart swell and I know everyone else is feeling the same, to have someone come into our pack and see all the good that happens always leaves me with a proud feeling, proud that I am a part of this pack, this family.

“Hey guys, sorry we’re late, a few more of my warriors decided to join us last minute, I hope you don’t mind?” Our attention is pulled away from the current conversation by Alpha John and several members of his pack arriving.

“Of course not, the more the merrier!” Cal quickly shouts out but Alpha John doesn’t seem to notice anything he says, I notice his eyes grow wide and his nose tilts up towards the air and as he starts sniffing I know what’s going to happen.

“What’s th at smell Alpha Calvin?” He doesn’t look at Cal as he asks, just keeps sniffing the air.

“I can’t smell anything-!” Cal looks at me and I know he’s realised the same thing but who is it? He makes his way around the table and keeps going until he reaches the opposite end of the table from me and then he stops right in front of her and my heart stops and I know I’m not the only one.
