His Little Wolf novel Chapter 65

Beta Liam

“Beta! Beta Liam wake up!” The darkness starts fading out but everything is still blurry, I can hear faint voices in the background but I can’t place who they belong to.

“Beta Liam, can you hear me?” I start to regain my focus and blink my eyes to try and clear my sight.

“Liam get your f*****g a*s up now, nap time is over!” I turn my head towards the window knowing exactly whose voice that was, only Ashley would talk to me like that when I’m in this situation, I flip him my middle finger and the prick laughs at me, he’s going to pay for that later!

“Beta Liam cover your eyes!” I look up to see Toby standing on the hood of the car, looking past him I can see ropes that have been tied to the front of the SUV and back up on the road there are some of our warriors holding the ropes, I can’t make out who they are in the darkness but I hope to f**k they hold on tight because my leg is still stuck and there’s a long drop behind me.

I close my eyes and seconds later I hear the shatter of glass when Toby shouts all clear I open my eyes to see him climbing inside and leaning on the passenger seat.

“Can you climb out Beta?”

“No, my leg is stuck!” He nods and immediately leans over me to get a closer look at my leg.

“Watch what you’re touching there Toby, I don’t like to share!” Ashley’s head pops through the now empty window frame and despite how s**t I feel I can’t help but chuckle.

“Oh, you break my heart Gamma Ashley, you really do!” Toby shouts out while he’s still trying to find a way to free my leg.

“I’ve only got eyes for you, Ash, don’t you worry!” He blows me a kiss before he’s distracted by his phone buzzing in his pocket and I put my attention back on Toby.

“How did you guys find me?”

“The wolf you swerved to avoid was warrior Ryan, he was rushing to get home before the storm got worse, he came down here after you but you had already blacked out and he couldn’t get you out, he didn’t have his phone on him so he ran to the packhouse to get help, Alpha is on the road with the warriors making sure we don’t end up in the river!”

“Thank you, Toby, you’re a good guy!”

“You can thank me when we’re back at the packhouse!” He continues to work by my legs and finally, he manages to free me, thank f**k for werewolf strength. There was no way a human was getting me out of there that quick. I wiggle my leg around and thank the moon goddess when I realise it isn’t broken. Toby gives Cal the heads up that we are ready to climb out and we both feel even more pull on the car, Cal bellows down giving us the all-clear and we make quick work of getting out of the SUV.

I lean on my right arm as I climb out and it’s defiantly broken but I know things could have been a lot worse. The weather is getting worse giving the bank less grip and I’m not sure how much longer the car would have stayed still.

Once we’re out and everyone’s back on the road I finally breathe a shy of relief. Ashley lunges himself at me squeezing the life out of me while Cal slaps down on my shoulder.

“How are you holding up? How’s your leg?” Cal’s no longer in Alpha mood, right now he’s my brother and a concerned brother at that.

“Legs good, my arm is defiantly broken but other than that just cuts and bruises, aside from my arm I’ll be fine in a few hours!” My arm however will take a few days to heal.

Cal being Cal had everything under control and everyone doing what was needed within minutes, including having one of the warriors run back to the house and fetch a car back for us.

“Cal Bethany doesn’t know about this does she?”

“No don’t worry, she was still sleeping when I left, if she wakes up before I’m back Brooke will cover me.” He informs all the men here that they are to remain quiet about this incident until told otherwise and even though they are clearly confused they don’t hesitate to agree.

The moment we arrive back at the packhouse I’m sent straight to the doc to be checked over with Ashley on my a*s and I’ve had Cal go home so there’s less chance of Beth finding out anything. Doc soon confirms my thoughts, a broken arm but other than that just cuts and bruises, most of them have already started healing! my arm gets plastered up and thankfully I’m free to go.

As soon as I get home, I take a long hot shower before diving into my bed and the moment my head touches the pillow I pass out with Beth’s face on my mind.

I’m up showered and dressed by 5.30 am with the excitement of a 5-year-old, It’s my mate’s 18th birthday and she’s going to be by my side as my mate by this evening, not as Luna’s sister but as my f*****g mate! f**k I’ve never wanted time to go as fast as I do today, but as much as I am excited I’m also insanely nervous.

I hope Ashley and Brooke have managed to get the plans laid out, I hope everything with the picnic goes to plan and more than anything I hope she wants me. I kept having dreams all night last night, well more like nightmares of Bethany finding out we are mates but not wanting me, rejecting me f**k it felt so real and now I’m starting to doubt everything.

I’m not sure if she has even realised it’s me yet but she closes her eyes and takes a step away from me causing me to have to stifle back a growl, finally, she opens her eyes and looks straight at me and I can’t wipe the shit-eating grin off of my face and I don’t even care.

Tears start to lace her beautiful face and for a heartbeat, I panic that she doesn’t want me but then she returns my smile with a beaming one of her own and I quickly realise her tears are from joy and neither I nor Jonah can hold back anymore.

“MATE, MINE!” I growl out and I thank the f*****g moon goddess when she wastes no time in returning the words.

We’re both still beaming, none of us speaking or even moving, just soaking up the sight of each other, it’s crazy how I’ve looked at

this girl millions of times over the last 3 years but still, it’s like I’m seeing a new version of her right now.

This gap that is between our bodies is unacceptable so I move forward bringing us close together, I see her body relax and I know it’s from her feeling safe with me and knowing that gives me the best feeling.

I bring my hands up to her face and gently wipe away her stray tears with my thumbs, the sparks still amaze me with how incredible they feel, my cheeks are burning from the constant smiling but I can’t help it, neither do I care.

We still haven’t spoken nor have we taken our eyes off each other, over the past 3 years I have thought about how this moment would go, imagined it happening a thousand different ways but now I know it was all a waste of time because there is no way I could ever

have imagined this feeling, it’s incredible and I never want it to end!

I need to hear her voice, I need to know what she’s thinking and feeling, I just need to know everything so I decide to break the ice by letting her into a little secret, one that I don’t think I’ll need to explain to her not once she hears it anyway.

I slowly lean into her giving her a chance to back away if she wants to, I don’t want her feeling uncomfortable. Her breath is fanning my face and at this moment I want nothing more than to kiss her but I won’t, not yet anyway, not until she’s ready.

She doesn’t back away which I love and once I get close enough I look into her beautiful eyes and reveal the secret to her…

“Hello, my little mate!”
