Chapter 150
Love
Windows were breaking, and more rogues were coming in. My brother refused to leave my side even for a second.
I still had my strength, so I fought the best I could, too. I couldn’t help but think we were constantly being targeted by the vampires. Nicholas, too, came to us when he noticed the same. My eyes met Lias during the chaos. For a moment I forgot how to breathe. He was so majestic. However, his fur was covered in blood. I was relieved when I smelled it wasn’t his.
He looked me over, and I nodded to assure him I was alright. I didn’t want my mate worrying during a fight and getting distracted.
His eyes wandered on me for too long. I gasped when two wolves barrelled into him. I attempted to run to him, but Prince Nicholas grabbed my arm.
“Let me go!”
“He’s fine,”
he was right. Ellis quickly fought them off. I still wanted to go to him though. To make sure he was alright after the hit he took.
“Love, you don’t have your lycan,” the Prince said.
How did he know that? I nodded and fought by their side.
The attackers had no chance, and soon, their numbers were depleted.
The aftermath wasn’t grave. None of our people died. However, some were bitten badly. They were treated.
I was standing against the wall, my hand on my stomach. A rogue managed to get a good scratch on me.
“What happened to your lycan?” Aerys asked, his tone low. He didn’t want us to be overheard. People might start to talk, and I might be a target of attacks.
“I don’t know. I can’t feel her,” my voice held fear. My eyes watered. I backed away when the Prince raised his hand to touch me. He stopped.
“Relax, I want to feel her if she’s still in you,” he said in the same tone as my brother. I nodded and he touched my jaw. His touch was gentle and warm. I could feel the power within him. I forgot that he had special abilities, more powers than the Queen. He was not only a superior lycan but had magic flowing in his veins. When the Queen was only a baby, she accidentally took the magic of a powerful dark wizard who tried to assassinate her. That power now flows in her children’s blood.
She’s there. Buried deep in you. It’s like you never shifted at all,” he mused.
“What is causing this?”
“I don’t know. However, there are rare situations where inner wolves lock themselves up to protect themselves.”
So many questions were swirling in my mind. Why would Vee disappear? She couldn’t do that. To me, to our pups, and Ellis.
“What about her strength?”
Just average,” he frowned.

I noticed that when we were fighting, I had my strength, but not at its fullest.
Oh, goddess. I can’t have that. We are in the middle of a war. Vee leaving me puts me and everyone at a disadvantage,” I said.
“There’s nothing you can do. She needs to fight her way back to you,” the Prince said.
‘Vee, please, I need you. Fight your way back to me,’ I begged my lycan. It was still silent. A few tears escaped me, but I wiped them quickly.
“You need to help me get her back,” I said to Nicholas. He raised his eyebrows.
“Why me?”
“You seem knowledgeable about it,” Aerys snapped. Nicholas frowned as he glared at his best friend.
‘You should, too. We were together in history class,” he retorted,
“Well, history is not my strong suit.”
“I’ll research more about it. I’ll call tomorrow,” he said. My brother threw an arm on my shoulder. It was a way to comfort me,
“We’ll get her back,” he assured me,
What if we don’t? I thought.
Ellis appeared in my vision. He was covered in blood, but it wasn’t his. A sigh rippled through me.
My eyes were glued to his as he approached. His gaze was on my stomach where the wolf had struck me. His lips turned into a frown. My wound was healing slowly. He pulled me in his arms and pressed me against his chest,
“Are you alright?”
I cocked my head up to meet his gaze,
“Yes, it’s healing. Are you alright?”
He only nodded, his fingers tracing my wounds. He kissed my lips softly.
Queen Anaiah and my mother walked over to us. They had both shifted during the attack and now wore large shirts, making their men snarl at whoever glanced their way.
“Are you guys alright?” Mom asked, hugging me. I nodded.
‘We are fine,” I answered th
Dad pulled me in his arms, too.
After the attack. We stayed at the hotel for a long meeting. The king was chairing it. He didn’t know that the city was being attacked by vampires.
Ellis briefed him about what was happening. He even informed him about the vampire treaty happening in a few days.
Everyone is tired now.
“Leon, everyone is exhausted,” Queen Anaiah said, getting off her husband’s lap. The couple was just like my parents. They didn’t shy away from public displays of affection.

“Fine,” he grunted and got to his feet.
My family was staying at the hotel, but I insisted they stay at my residence, to which they agreed. I called the servants there to prepare rooms for four people..
We left the large conference area. I found Luis standing in the hall, looking worriedly.
He felt guilty for not being with me during the attack.
Luis,” I called gently.
