His Plump Mate (Book 1: The 'His' Series) novel Chapter 436

Isaiah POV

“He was offering you an apartment. I’m not jealous, I’m territorial. I don’t share what’s mine.” I said.

Kaia looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “You could hear the conversation from there?”

“I may have the position of a beta, Kaia; but I was born an Alpha. Alpha’s have better hearing than most.” I said.

“So, if I want a private conversation with Sinclair or Thalia, you would still hear it?” she asked.

“Yeah. For the record, your conversations with Sinclair have always been interesting. You two act like sisters.” I said.

“I wish we were sisters.” she said. “I would have liked to have had a sibling growing up.”

“Well, we could always have a hundred pups and then you will never be bored.” I teased.

Kaia laughed and it was carefree and happy. Something deep rooted in me though wants to see her by my side and pregnant with my pups. I keep that thought to myself for right now though.

“Okay, so I’m going to see if Aiden and Thalia are back. They should be. If they are, then I am sticking it out here with you this week.” I said.

“If they are not?” Kaia asked.

“I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, trouble.” I said.

I grabbed my phone and dialed Aiden. When he answers he sounds really happy. “Hey bro. How are the troublemakers?”

I chuckled, “Still causing trouble. Are you back at the pack yet?”

“Yeah, got in last night. When are you getting back?”

“Hopefully by the end of the week. Kaia’s attorney managed to get a restraining order and divorce date. Human rejection is such a process.”

“Yeah, wolves are better. Hey, heads up, I asked Reid and Adrian to come as back up for a couple of days in case you need me. Adrian is in a foul mood lately. He and Amber keep fighting.” Aiden said.

“I’ll talk to him and see what’s going on when I get back. I think we are good here though. Better than good actually.” I said.

“Oh, yeah? Marked your mate, then?”

“Not yet. It’s a long story. I will tell you about it when I get back to the pack. In the meantime, give my love to everyone.” I said.

“Sorry dad. I reacted on instinct. You and Chad were both knocked out by that bitch. I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.” She said, icing her face.

That fucker with Sinner gave Candy a black eye and swollen face in one hit. He will pay for that later. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my leverage back with Sinclair. I want to break her now, more than ever.

I don’t understand why she is so keen on finding her birth parents anyway. They gave her up on purpose. There was no reluctance on their part. They literally told the staff to take her, and they didn’t even bat an eye when they dropped her off. I remember. I saw everything. I was a janitor at the orphanage at the time. I remember how Sinner’s mother didn’t want her. I remember how the father rejected her.

At the time I felt bad. It made me want to become a foster parent. I was still with my wife at the time, but then she left me for another man and dumped Chad and Candy on me. She never once came back. Not even to check on her own two kids.

I don’t understand how some mothers can be that heartless. I was approved to be a foster caregiver while my wife was with me. I never changed my status though. I wanted to take care of kids like Sinner. The divorce made me bitter though. I couldn’t be nice to any of the kids that stayed with me. I told the adoption agency that Sinner was going to be my last foster kid.

The checks were nice, but I saved up enough and made some smart investments to live comfortably. I wanted more though and I thought I would be able to get it from Sinner. Who knew she would be like a fucking MMA fighter?

“Chad, come help me in the garage.” I said as a memory floated to my subconscious. I have one other piece of information regarding Sinner’s past that I can use to my advantage. If I remember correctly, I have one photo of her as a baby. Her mom was holding her and the people at the orphanage took that picture.

“What are we doing in here, dad?” Chad asked.

“We are looking for some old photos. One of a baby being held by her mother. There should be a tattoo on the forearm. Start going through boxes and set aside any pictures you find.” I said.

We started rummaging and in the back of my mind, I start formulating a plan to bring Sinner back. This time, I will have her underneath me.
