Chapter 449
Isaiah POV
“Fuck! These are bombs?” I said in a panic. That means our defenses are hanging by a thread.
‘Aiden, Thalia, Mom, Dad, you guys better come to my location. We have a serious problem.” I said in the mind link
‘We are on our way.’ Aiden said.
‘We are too.’ Dad said.
“They are on their way. I also have mom and dad coming.” I said.
Adrian then spoke up, “I have Reid and Navy coming.”
I nodded curtly and watched as Sinclair and Kaia started working on the box.
“Kaia, move the tester to that wire. Don’t pull it.” Sinclair said. “Running diagnostic.”
“Clear,” Kaia said.
I am mesmerized watching Kaia work. Well, Kaia and Sinclair. They are in synch with each other. It’s like they are a well-oiled machine.
Adrian is watching them intently, too. He leaned over and whispered, “Are they always like this?”
I smirked, “Oh, yeah. Thick as thieves, those two.”
Everyone finally arrives, and I explain what Kaia and Sinclair are working on. When I explained that these boxes were all over our defenses and that their secondary use was to explode and bring them down, everyone snarled.
Aiden looked like he was about to lose his shit. “So if we rip these out, we can trigger the explosives?”
Sinclair answered, “Yup. I’m working on it, Aiden.”
Then, as if lightning struck Aiden, he turned to Rory, “Sis, take Thalia to the pack house. Don’t let her anywhere near these fences until this is under control.”
Reid chimes in, “Navy, go with them.”
Dad then chimes in, “Darlin’, you should go too. Keep them calm.”
Mom, however, put her hands on her hips, “Excuse me, Austin? I’m not going anywhere. These women around you are fierce, and we can handle anything. The same goes for the rest of you boys. And in case you haven’t realized it, women are the ones dismantling the boxes. So give us more credit, please and thanks.”
Thalia smiles at Aiden, “Your mother has spoken, guapo. I happen to agree with her.”
Navy and Rory laugh, and Rory speaks up, “What a cute attempt. Epic fail, brother.”
I’m paying attention to Kaia and Sinclair, though. “Anything I can do?”
Kaia looks at me, “See the green light on the box?”
“Yeah.”
“Run to the next box. Tell me if it’s green.” She says.

I run down and mind link her, ‘It’s green.’
‘Good. We are almost through the firewall to dismantle this thing. In a few minutes, tell me if the light changes to red’.
‘Does that mean it’s dismantled?’
‘It will mean we bypassed the alert system. Then we can move to dismantling the explosive trigger.’
‘How will you know if that is off?”
“The light should just turn off completely. This is pretty sophisticated.’
‘Can you find out who implanted that damn thing?’
‘Sinclair and I are working on it.’
Adrian comes to me, and I explain it to him. He offers to stand watch while I run back to Kaia. As I approach, I see Thalia working with Kaia and Sinclair.
“Do we know who did this?” She asked.
“Not yet. We are getting close, though.” Sinclair said, and her focus is zeroed in on something. “Interesting.”
“What’s interesting?” Aiden asked.
“This is a homegrown box, Aiden. No serial numbers, patent numbers, nothing. They are good, but I’m better.” She smirked.
Rodrigo pipes up, “I know that look. You figured it out, didn’t you, Sinclair?”
“Uh-huh.” She said, still focusing on the computer screen in front of her. “These bastards made this like a huge maze. I’m almost through the other side.”
Kaia is going through the box, “This looks like it could be the main box, Sinclair. I see a small junction box. They definitely daisy-chained this thing.”
“Daisy chain?” Reid asked.
“Yeah. Like wired lighting. If one lightbulb goes out, the rest follow. It’s because they are all connected to a main point. This box is the main point. We got lucky.” Kaia said.
Adrian calls out, “The light just changed red!”
Sinclair smiled, “Part one is done. Now, let’s dismantle the explosives.”
Navy POV
I wish I were smart like these women. I’m strong and fierce, but I suddenly feel inadequate standing beside these ladies. They are super smart. They figured out how to bypass the alarms and are now dismantling the explosives within the boxes. How cool are they? I want to be like them when I grow up.
“Once the trigger for the explosives is dismantled, we can start tearing out the boxes, right?”
“Yup. You may want to get the warriors ready, Aiden,” Sinclair said.
I’ve been observing Sinclair. She is sweet, calm, but sad. Her eyes look like they are constantly in search of
