I spoke to Reid about a possible replacement for Isaiah. He is at a loss as well.

“I don’t have anyone who can fill in for me. Not even temporarily,” I said.

“Hey, I have an idea. Of course, I need to check if it’s okay with them first. I don’t think they will say no, though,” Reid said.

I sit up, “I’m open to all suggestions.”

“What if I asked Renz and Lacey to fill in? They were the previous beta couple after all.”

A huge smile grows on my face, “Bro, that would be perfect! Do you think they would be willing?”

“I’ll ask them and let you know. Now tell me how Isaiah became the Alpha of Ironclaw. Adrian only gave me footnotes.”

I explained everything to Reid. I even explained in detail that Paul is Kaia’s ex-husband. By the time I was done explaining, we were both laughing.

“Man, Paul was a serious dumbass. Moon Goddess sure as hell has a way with timing, doesn’t she?”

“Tell me about it. Now we need to find the tool and how it works. Time is running out with each passing day.”

“You have time, Aiden. You were running yourself ragged about Ironclaw, and look what happened. Have a little faith.”

“How are Jules and Nala? Nala came here by herself. That was unusual.”

“Yeah. Jules has been busy manning the pack. Adrian and I have been helping you a lot with yours. Nala was exhausted and wanted to decompress. I needed Jules, though. I promised him that when Adrian and Amber come back, he and Nala can take a vacation. Honestly, they need one.”

“Adrian and Amber seem like they are doing better right now. I’m not sure what goes on behind closed doors, but from what I have seen, they have been fine since they got here. They are at Ironclaw right now.”

“Why?”

“Don’t get me started. According to Mom and Dad, Paul was an asshole to the omegas, women, and pups. They went there to help out with the pack finances. I think Paul might have been embezzling pack funds.”

“What a bastard.”

“Yeah. By the way, you are going to be an uncle, twice over.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah. Not only is Thalia pregnant again, but so is Kaia.”

“Seriously?”

“Yeah. Seriously.”

“Congratulations then. I need to call Isaiah and bust his chops, too.”
