I’ve been searching and searching. Using the new information that Ronan provided during the attack to help me with a new angle. Start figuring out who he has been in contact with and narrow the path from there.

It might be a long shot, but it’s better than no shot.

“I suspect he has dealings with Julian,” Isaiah said.

“Because of the women, right?” I asked.

“Yeah. Paul was getting women from another wolf. Birch helped Julian and managed the women with Whitaker and Satterwhite. So maybe we need to see where he has been with Julian.”

I smiled wickedly. “I would love nothing more than to hack into Julian’s mainframe and go through all his data.”

Kaia laughed, “Are you going to need another laptop?”

“Nope. Black Enterprises' tech department is clean. You just have asshole men working in that department.”

“They learned who I was today. I’m not worried,” Kaia said.

I laughed. “I bet that was fun.”

“It would have been more fun if you had been there. Because I already know you would have cut them down, and I would have applauded you.”

“Well, now that the tech department is cleared, I will start working on Julian’s stuff. I’ll do that tomorrow, though. I am going to finish packaging the information on Whitaker and send it. Then I am taking a long, hot bath.”

“Do you need wine?” Kaia smirked.

“There is no view of good-looking men, so no,” I said with a fake pout.

Isaiah just shook his head.

Once I was done, I left those two alone. I’m honestly surprised they are only having one pup. Kaia is huge, and I won’t say that to her face. I value my life. But also, those two are so involved with each other. I’m happy for Kaia. She deserves to be happy.

‘So do you, Clair,’ Mali said.

‘It’s not my time yet, and I’m okay with that, Mali. I’m used to being alone.’

‘I don’t want us to be alone. We have to have a mate.’

‘If we do, then the Moon Goddess doesn’t want us to meet yet. I just hope it doesn’t end up like Adrian and Amber.’

‘Their situation is sad,’ Mali said.

‘I feel sorry for Adrian. He was clearly hurting. What Amber did was really bad, don’t you think?’

Something about that thought settles me. My chest loosens a bit.

‘Wouldn’t it be something if Adrian rejected Amber and then we end up being fated to him?’

I chuckled. ‘I annoy him. Besides, he only has eyes for Amber. He’s upset with her, but I think he will forgive her.’

‘I don’t know. Some things can’t be forgiven. She slept with another man, more than once,’ she said.

‘I’m not going to contemplate being mates with a man that is already mated to someone else, Mali. That’s not my style or yours,’ I said.

Mali scoffed. ‘I’m allowed to daydream. Besides, he’s hot. Isaiah and Adrian might be identical twins in the face, but Adrian’s biceps are larger, and his jawline is stronger.’

I think about the differences. They look alike, but they both clearly have their own style and personality.

Isaiah is more serious, clean-cut, and businesslike. Adrian is a little scruffier, teasing, and likes to play around more. They both are in sync with each other and love their family. I get the sense Adrian doesn’t want to be an alpha of a pack. I think he likes being a beta. Whereas Isaiah moved into that role at Ironclaw easily.

‘You’re not wrong,’ I say to my wolf.

‘Duh! I like Adrian. I also like Thor. He’s playful.’

‘Yeah, well, it doesn’t change the fact they are already mated.’
