His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 724

Austin POV

Rebel is fussing over my bow tie. “It’s crooked, my love.”

“It’s fine, darlin’,” I said with a smile.

“We need to hurry. We can’t be the reason everything starts late.”

I wrapped my arms around Rebel. My whole life began when I met her in the woods on that fateful night. We have lived the most incredible life. We have the most amazing family. None of it could have happened without her.

I still get choked up at not being there for her for an entire year. I was with the Moon Goddess. She was training me for my job as councilman. She said she had plans for me in the future, that included setting new standards for all packs. She wanted me to lead the charge for the hybrids she planned to keep growing, starting with Aiden’s pups.

I took all of her training. I didn’t think I was gone for a year. It certainly didn’t feel that long. That’s why when I woke up, I was surprised to see everyone crying as much as they did. I even missed out on the birth of more grandpups, Adrian’s aquamarine discovery, and Kaia’s accomplishments with Black Enterprises.

The Moon Goddess said Rebel and I would live long enough to see Aiden's first two pups mated, but not beyond. Knowing that, I am living every part of every day to the fullest with Rebel. I never told her that part, because I didn’t want her to worry.

Death is a part of life, and if our lives end together, then I don’t regret anything. I’ve never been more grateful than I am now.

Adrian has grown Blackclaw a lot since I woke up. It’s been six months since that time. Sinclair has recovered from giving birth to Phoebe and Ian. Phoenix is following in Adrian’s footsteps. Irene is already in warrior training. She is two years old and already learning basic moves. Sinclair is helping her, while Adrian focuses on Phoenix.

Councilman Edgar was excited to hear that I woke up. After a month of recovery from being in a coma, Cronos had me healed and back to myself. I accepted his offer because Moon Goddess told me this was the new path I needed to take. It’s more paperwork than I care for, but I knew that was part of the package.

Today, though, I’m not thinking about any of that. Today is for Adrian and Sinclair. This has been a long time coming, and I am happy to be here for it. Rebel and I went to Adrian and Sinclair’s bedroom. We knocked, and Sinclair opened the door.

She looked nervous and happy at the same time. I smiled at her. “You look beautiful, Sinclair.”

Her eyes grew misty, and she smiled. “Thank you, Dad. I’m so glad you both are here today.”

“We wouldn’t miss it, my dear girl,” Rebel said.
