His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 146

Annika, unable to persuade Zoltan, fell silent, her last hope resting on a pleading glance toward Yazmin.

Yazmin immediately stepped in. “He’s just a baby, Zoltan. He can’t be separated from his mother. And Annika has been doing a wonderful job with him. Just look at his little arms, so strong and chubby. He’s so cute I could just eat him up!”

As she spoke, Yazmin lifted Monroe's pudgy little hand, waving it at Zoltan.

Zoltan was unmoved, scoffing coldly, “A wonderful job? She put him in mortal danger. If it weren’t for Estelle, this child might not even be here. She is completely incapable of protecting my great-grandson. And you, Yazmin, why are you defending her? She’s not your daughter-in-law anymore.”

Zoltan refused to listen to another word and was determined to take Monroe.

Yazmin shot Annika a helpless look as she followed Zoltan out of the hospital room, holding Monroe in her arms.

Annika chased after them all the way to the ground floor, watching in despair as Zoltan climbed into a Lincoln. Yazmin got in with the baby, and the car sped away, disappearing from her sight.

Her mind was a tangled mess of panic. Her only hope now was Conrad. She pulled out her phone and dialed his number without a second thought.

At that moment, Conrad was sprawled on a couch in a private room at the Celestial Club, with Justin and Donovan lying nearby. The room stank of booze, and empty bottles were scattered everywhere.

The piercing ring of the phone cut through the haze.

The sound woke Justin. He tugged at his loosened tie, licked his dry lips, and pried his eyes open. He kicked Donovan beside him. “Donovan, phone.”
