His Regret Arrived Three Days Late novel Chapter 57

“I’m not going back. Tell Conrad that we’re finished.” Her voice came out raw, like her throat was on fire, every word a struggle. Then, she turned her face away, refusing to look at Hank, and focused intently on her work.

Hank returned empty-handed. Conrad, agitated, demanded, “Where is she?”

“Mr. Beryl…” Hank couldn’t bring himself to repeat Annika’s final words. He just said, “Maybe it’s best to let Mrs. Beryl stay at Sargent Group for a few days.”

An instant frost covered Conrad’s handsome face, a dangerous glint flashing in his narrow eyes. With a flare of his nostrils, he ordered, “Call that bastard Mason and tell him if he dares touch what’s mine, I’ll shrink his assets until he can’t even afford underwear.”

It wasn't just a warning. Conrad moved swiftly, coordinating with Donovan to launch a full-scale assault on Mason’s investment firms.

The next day, Annika sent her finalized investment proposal to Mason for review, but hours passed with no reply. She decided to call the number he’d given her the night before, only to find he’d blocked her; the call was immediately forwarded.

A dark line formed between Annika’s brows. She immediately called Tyler and told him she couldn’t get in touch with Mason.
