I glared down at her, and in her eyes flashed realisation. She knew there would be consequences for doing something like this. So she had to take it.
She continued to struggle, but my grip was firm.
I walked through the burst door of the office. The employee who the office belonged to was waiting outside with my bodyguards.
You can go inside and work. The door will be fixed in due time," I informed him.
"Yes, chairman," he said.
"You see how you’ve inconvenienced others," I told Jasmine as I walked away, still holding her.
"Oh, please," she said to me in annoyance. "Are you really going to carry me all the way to your office?"
Yes, I was. I thought to myself. Couldn’t have you trying to slip away again.
Every employee moving through the hallway looked at us as I made my way to the elevator. I saw Jasmine’s embarrassment on her face as she felt the eyes on us. I scoffed.
One of the bodyguards called the elevator upon reaching it. I looked down at Jasmine as we waited, who had finally given up on fighting and was quiet.
She was staring at nothing in particular and seemed lost in her thoughts. Perhaps she was thinking about the phone call she had just made? However, one of my eyebrows cocked as I noticed she looked a little...sad?
Why aren’t you happy? I thought to myself. Didn’t you just come from talking to the Carrington boy? So why the long face? My eyes narrowed as I wondered why she appeared like this.
The elevator then arrived.
"Make sure no one else gets in the elevator with us," I instructed the bodyguards as the doors opened and I went inside. I would show Jasmine what was going to happen from now on. An opportunity like that was never going to happen again.
Every time the elevator stopped, the bodyguards would inform the caller to use the other elevators.
Upon arriving in my office, I placed her on the couch in the seating area. The HQ nurse was waiting nearby. She then came to the seating area and inspected her leg.
I paced around as I nervously waited.
"Her leg is fine and is healing accordingly," the nurse said once she was done.
Once she left the room, and it was just Jasmine, me...and the bodyguards. We stared at each other in silence for a moment. I then went to my desk and picked up my telephone receiver, and made a call to the building’s head of security.
Once the call went through, I spoke up.
"I want four more bodyguards stationed outside my office," I instructed them whilst making eye contact with Jasmine.
As I put the phone down, Jasmine was still glaring. I could tell she wanted to say something I would wait for her to speak up.
