Maxwell didn't seem to have the courage to chase after her. He stood rooted to the spot for a moment, his gaze suddenly turning somber as a thought struck him.
An hour later.
On set.
Aria Moon had just finished filming her morning scenes and returned to her trailer for a quick nap.
She had been utterly exhausted lately. Though she was playing the second female lead, the bad weather over the past few days had caused multiple delays, disrupting the shooting schedule and forcing everyone to rush to catch up.
It was especially grueling during her recent scene with the female lead. The script required the lead to slap her across the face, but after several takes, the director still wasn't satisfied with the result.
As a result, she had taken several real slaps. Despite applying ice packs and getting immediate treatment, her left cheek was visibly swollen.
Staring at her reflection in the mirror, Aria couldn't help but clench her fists.
"If I were still as popular as I used to be, these people wouldn't dare walk all over me."
Her assistant, standing off to the side, didn't dare make a sound.
Aria was already fuming, and seeing that no one was validating her complaints, her face darkened instantly.
"I pay you to work, not to stand there like a mute!"
She shot her assistant a look filled with obvious irritation.
"I'm talking to you. Go buy me a coffee. I want an iced Americano, absolutely no sugar."
The assistant nodded immediately, turning and rushing out of the trailer.
The trailer fell silent in an instant.
Aria sat there for a long time, lost in thought, before finally pulling out her phone to call Mr. Jude.
The line rang for a while before someone finally picked up.
Just as she opened her mouth to speak, the person on the other end beat her to it. "Ms. Moon, Mr. Jude is currently in a meeting and cannot take your call. If you have something urgent, you can let me know first."
It was Mr. Jude's assistant.
