Lyra accepted it gracefully.
After all, they could never be friends.
Being complete strangers was the best possible outcome.
"Exactly. VP Lennox is also one of the investors. Otherwise, she wouldn't be here today."
Director Grant smiled as he spoke.
"I have to say, VP Lennox has an excellent eye. I hope we get the chance to collaborate again after this production wraps."
Lyra offered a modest smile. "You're far too kind. I only signed on because of your outstanding reputation."
Silas Chambers, who had been silent since the start, finally chimed in.
"Alright, you two, enough with the pleasantries. We'll be working together soon enough, so save the flattery for later. Tonight, let's just focus on the current project."
Hearing this, Maxwell's eyes flickered with sudden interest.
He was highly intrigued by the potential collaboration Silas had just mentioned.
But before he could say a word, Silas shifted the conversation directly to him.
"It hasn't been that long since we last met, Mr. Sterling, yet it feels like a year has passed. How have you been? Are there any issues with the operations of your new company?"
After Maxwell announced his departure from the Sterling Group, Godfrey Sterling didn't pull funding from Silas's project. Instead, the older man doubled down on investments and marketing.
If anything, the Sterling family valued this partnership even more now than when Maxwell was in charge.
Maxwell was well aware of this, just as he knew that Silas still harbored deep resentment toward him over the previous incident involving Aria.
