This was a catastrophic scenario Maxwell had never even considered.
The crisis was significantly worse than he had imagined.
"Every single company with deep ties to the Lennox family has already signaled their intent to pull out. We're only barely holding them off for now. Mr. Sterling, if this continues and the cash flow dries up completely, we're in critical danger."
Maxwell knew exactly how critical that danger was.
Leo's report completely drained the fight out of Maxwell, and he collapsed heavily back into his leather chair.
Right at that moment, Aria stumbled frantically into the office.
"Max! The photos of us..."
Crash—
Before she could even finish her sentence, the explosive sound of shattering objects terrified her into freezing in her tracks.
Maxwell had violently swept everything off his desk, sending it all crashing to the floor.
The sheer devastation of the scene made Aria instantly realize something horrific had happened, and that her timing was absolutely abysmal.
But given the sheer panic she was in, she had no choice but to push forward.
"Max, the paparazzi caught us... walking into the hotel. The PR team couldn't kill the story in time, and the pictures are already everywhere online! What are we going to do?"
In the past, they could just vaguely ignore the rumors. As long as they didn't confirm or deny anything, the fallout was manageable.
But this time was entirely different. They couldn't just sweep photos of them walking into a hotel together under the rug; no one was going to buy an innocent explanation.
Especially since they were notoriously guilty to begin with.
After dropping that bombshell, Aria waited for a response, but all she heard was the shrill ring of a phone.
It was Maxwell's phone.
