He deliberately dragged out the word 'Grandfather', coating it in a thick layer of sarcasm.

Godfrey, already hovering at the brink of an aneurysm, felt his face flush a violent shade of crimson, his eyes blazing as if they were shooting literal fire.

"Maxwell, it seems you don't just want to quit the company, you want to abandon this family altogether!"

Hearing this, Mrs. Sterling Sr. frantically tried to play peacemaker. "Godfrey, please, Max is just overwhelmed by all the chaos lately. The stress is getting to him, that's why he's lashing out. Please don't be angry, I'll scold him properly. We're all family here, we shouldn't be saying such hurtful things!"
