Massaging her temples, she protested, "Doctor, is it really that serious? I have work piling up..."
The doctor glared at her. "What's more important, your job or your health? Don't think you can brush this off just because you're young. Once it turns into a chronic issue or habitual sprain, you'll regret it when you're older."
Sienna felt another headache coming on. "What about my basic needs? I can pass gas in bed and open a window, but I can't exactly use the toilet in bed."
"Hey, you're a pretty young lady, why is your mouth so full of potty talk?" The doctor glanced up, shooting a look at Jorrod, who stood guarding the door like a sentinel. "Isn't your boyfriend right here? Have him take a week off to take care of you."
It hadn't even been that many days since they agreed to keep their distance. Letting him carry her naked into the bedroom had already taken all her courage.
A whole week...
Sienna didn't even have to think. "That won't work, doctor, he's not..."
Jorrod's left hand gently pressed against her shoulder. "I can do it."
Sienna was speechless.
The doctor nodded. "One week, young man. Bring your girlfriend back for a check-up then."
-
It was past nine o'clock when they got home.
Jorrod arranged the bedding in Sienna's room, carefully carried her over, and fetched her pajamas.
Sienna sat hugging the cool fabric, but the man made no move to leave.
"I'll sleep in this room for the week," Jorrod announced.
Sienna's head snapped up.
She met his unwavering gaze, completely devoid of lust.
Before she could refuse, Jorrod added, "I'll sleep on the floor. If I'm separated by a wall next door, I'll worry. Plus, being in the same room makes it easier for you to call me."
Sienna thought he was overreacting. "I busted my ankle, not my brain. What is there to worry about?"
"I'm worried you'll ignore the doctor's orders and get out of bed."
Sienna went silent.
She absolutely would have done exactly that.
