I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 117

Jorrod wanted to go on her behalf, but Sienna refused.

She tried to stand, but Jorrod grabbed her waist and pulled downward, forcing her back into the dining chair.

He bent his leg, resting one knee on the seat cushion, forcefully crowding into the space between her legs.

Sienna looked up, the air suddenly sucked out of the room.

His towering figure loomed over her, blocking out the light.

Right in front of her eyes.

The silver pendant dangled in the air, mere inches away.

It caught the light, gleaming.

It swayed back and forth, making her dizzy.

In the claustrophobic space, sharing the same warm breath, Sienna's heart was inexplicably seized. It hammered wildly against her ribs, rendering her incapable of struggle, stripping her of the ability to speak.

What was wrong with her lately?

It had been so long.

Why were the memories only growing sharper, burned into her brain and violently replaying when she least expected it?

She lowered her eyes, staring at the black knit sweater clinging to his torso.

It was an old piece she had owned for over a decade.

Yet somehow, the long-sleeved, mock-neck black sweater looked effortlessly elegant and undeniably sexy on Jorrod, perfectly outlining his lean, muscular frame.

It clung to the hard planes of his chest and tapered tightly at his narrow waist.

Even the way it partially covered his Adam's apple was obscenely erotic yet impossibly aristocratic. The slightly rolled-up sleeves exposed a sliver of pale, cool skin that she couldn't bear to look at for more than a second.

It was so completely modest.

She could only conclude that it should be illegal to wear it on its own.

Sienna was lost in thought for a long time.

She heard Jorrod's deep, slightly husky voice. "Let me take care of you. Think of it as me repaying my debt."

Her thoughts snapped back. She lifted her eyelids, crashing into a sea of darkness. So many complex emotions churned in those black eyes—she saw struggle, suppression, and even...

Janice replied, "I guess you could say that."

Rena leaned in. "What does he look like?"

Janice smirked. "Didn't get a good look. Just saw he's tall, probably not bad looking."

Rena pressed, "Oh? How old is he? Sienna is so petty. Everyone brings their boyfriends to the company dinners, but she refuses. They all say..."

"Rena." Janice rapped her knuckles on the desk. "If you put half the energy you spend gossiping into your work, you would've gotten a raise by now."

Rena choked on her words.

"You know exactly why I didn't approve Sienna's leave. She didn't have to take over this project. Who is she cleaning up after?"

Rena lowered her eyes, biting her lip, not daring to breathe.

Before Sienna took it over, Rena had been the one in charge of that project.

At noon, a taxi pulled up to the office building.
