I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 116

"No. You are not allowed to mention that again."

"Understood." Jorrod picked up the glass and handed it to her. "You just woke up. Drink some warm water to warm you up."

Sienna lowered her eyes, staring at the steaming, rippling water. She suddenly remembered why she had gotten out of bed in the first place.

She needed to pee.

Sienna looked away, speaking rapidly. "I don't want water. I need to use the bathroom."

Jorrod paused, gave a soft "Mm," and leaned down. His arm slipped behind her back through her loose hair, while his right hand scooped under her knees, effortlessly lifting her into his arms. Sienna instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her toward the bathroom.

It was only a few steps away.

Sienna's sense of shame exploded.

In all her life, she had never been princess-carried just to handle her biological needs.

Jorrod didn't put her down.

"Should I help?"

Sienna was stunned. "Help... help me with what?"

"I'll hold you while you go," Jorrod said, looking down at her with total seriousness.

Instantly, she ground her teeth. "You... do not push your luck."

Sienna kicked Jorrod out.

Through the frosted glass of the bathroom door, she could vaguely see the man's tall silhouette waiting just outside.

The toilet was right next to the sink.

Without hesitation, she reached out and cranked the faucet on high.

The rush of water masked any embarrassing sounds she made.

Her thick lashes fluttered down, hiding the chaotic emotions swirling in her brown eyes.

Gripping her pajama pants tightly, her face burned.

-

Jorrod had already prepared breakfast.

Before eating, Sienna called Janice to ask for time off.

The initial drafts for the new product had been finalized, so she assumed it would be an easy request. To her surprise, Janice rejected it without a second thought.

"Sienna, the project you're handling can't be handed off right now. Besides, I wouldn't trust anyone else with it."

"Tell you what, I know where you live. I'll drive over and pick you up."

Jorrod immediately pulled back an inch. "I'm sorry."

He wasn't allowed to say sorry.

But the word had already slipped out.

Lowering his long lashes, the man pressed his lips together.

The interaction paralyzed all three of them.

Including Janice on the phone, whose usually crisp, professional voice suddenly stammered. "...Who, who is this?"

"I'm—"

Snapping back to reality, Sienna desperately slapped her hand over the man's mouth. "Janice, I'll be right—"

Janice cut her off. "Oh, this is Sienna's boyfriend! Working from home is fine, it is a physical inconvenience after all. But the files are at the office. Since you're home too, please be a dear and bring Sienna over to grab them, alright?"

Sienna froze. The call disconnected.

She sat there, dumbfounded.

Staring blankly ahead, her face devoid of expression, she processed the moment.

Even an anonymous voice over the phone commanded authority? She couldn't get the time off, but the moment Jorrod spoke, it was approved?
