The kiss was over as soon as it began.
Jorrod stood frozen in sheer shock.
The soft sensation on his lips was undeniably real, yet it felt as fragile and illusory as a soap bubble.
"Did you... drink?"
Because she only kissed him when she was drunk.
Sienna held his face in both hands. "Do you smell alcohol?"
Jorrod's pupils trembled slightly, his eyelashes completely still as if paralyzed by the moment. He didn't dare move. He couldn't move. It felt like if he so much as breathed, he would shatter this impossible fantasy.
The woman leaned in and pressed her lips to his again, sucking softly with a lingering tenderness. Her voice was slightly muffled against him: "Do you? Can you taste any alcohol?"
Her breath, mere inches away, tangled with his, as she pecked at his lips over and over in the most intimate way imaginable.
Jorrod had been entirely passive up to this point, suppressing his ragged breathing, simply staring down at her with lowered eyes.
As her lips brushed against his, leaving them slightly flushed, his dark eyes grew pitch black, raw emotion surging violently within them.
When the woman finally paused and looked up at him, her almond eyes were still misty, glimmering beautifully like a dark, quiet lake.
Her pink lips parted right in front of him.
She whispered, "You don't just kiss when you're drunk. You can kiss when you like someone, too."
His narrow eyes flashed.
Her words echoed in his ears.
*Like someone.*
*You can, too.*
"Jorrod Vaughn, I like you."
"Not just a little bit. I really, truly, absolutely like you..."
The taut string holding Jorrod's mind together.
*Snap.*
It broke.
"I li— Mmph."
He refused to hold back a second longer and kissed her back.
It wasn't some shallow, kitten-like peck.
The woman in his arms was wearing a thin, silky nightgown that hung loosely off her frame. Jorrod's hand slid up past her shoulder blades, his palm searing hot as he gripped the fragile nape of her neck and pulled her flush against him.
They were pressed entirely together. With only two thin layers of fabric between them, the searing heat of their bodies was stunningly clear.
Sienna squeezed her eyes shut and surrendered to it.
She had to admit, the moment he took control, her scalp prickled with electricity and her breathing instantly fell apart.
His kiss was a ruthless, all-consuming invasion, laced with the clean scent of mint.
Firm and smooth. Honestly, it felt incredibly good.
One, two, three...
Huh? Why were there only six?
Didn't the guys on TV always have an eight-pack?
Whatever. A six-pack was plenty.
Sienna blushed secretly and, pushing her luck, let her hand trail higher.
His pecs. She remembered those felt pretty amazing, too.
But her wandering hand was caught halfway up, seized in a vice-like grip that instantly crushed all its wicked ambitions.
Sienna opened her eyes, seeing the raw, surging lust churning in the man's dark gaze.
"Am I... not allowed to touch?" she asked.
She remembered.
He used to love it. He would even actively encourage her to feel him up.
Jorrod turned his head and pressed a kiss to her soft, round earlobe.
His voice was hoarser than ever. "You are. But I'm afraid if you keep doing that, I won't be able to hold back..."
As the man sucked gently on the shell of her ear, Sienna couldn't help but shiver. The words slipped out before she could stop them: "Who asked you to hold back?"
