I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 131

They had been sharing a bed for a week.

For the first time, the imaginary boundary line down the middle of the mattress had been abandoned. Sienna Quinn’s back was pressed flush against the man’s warm chest. His arm, wrapped around her waist, was solid and heavy with muscle. With winter approaching, it was surprisingly hot.

Or maybe it was just a different kind of heat.

Having experienced this before didn’t mean she could face it calmly.

Her voice was muffled against the blankets. "You're poking me."

At her words, the man's embrace loosened slightly.

Sienna mentally translated the evolution of her current predicament: it had gone from a loaded weapon pressed directly against her, to a gun casually pointed at her.

"Still a bit..."

The embrace loosened a fraction more.

Great. Now the gun was just aimed in her general direction.

"Jorrod..."

Before she could finish, the man beside her suddenly shifted. He pulled his knee up, swung over her body, and settled on her left side.

They were now face-to-face, and he pulled her back into his arms.

The movement was incredibly swift and fluid.

Sienna was still in a daze.

Jorrod Vaughn kissed the tip of her nose. "There. Now it won't touch you."

"Couldn't you have just let me turn over?"

"You can't fall asleep on your right side."

"...You've been observing me again."

"I haven't. It's just very easy to notice."

Jorrod closed his eyes, and Sienna didn't say anything more. She lay quietly in his arms, studying his strikingly handsome features.

Thick lashes rested against his skin. His nose was straight, his lips a natural, inviting shade. Every single detail of his face was unforgettably exquisite. That tiny mole resting perfectly beneath his eye added a touch of character, flawlessly balancing the aloofness of his sharply defined jawline.

Sienna's heart swelled, feeling incredibly full.

This man, really.

How could anyone be this good-looking?

She phrased it as delicately as possible.

The man fell silent. After a long moment, he suddenly sat up. "I should probably go sleep in the guest room."

Sienna grabbed him, mercilessly calling him out. "When we weren't together, you practically begged to sleep in the same bed as me. Now that we are, you're trying to hide."

Jorrod didn't move. He pressed his lips together, remaining silent, though his broad back looked a bit stiff in the dim light.

"Turn around and look at me," she ordered. The man obediently turned back to her. Meeting those dark, beautiful eyes, she instantly lost the ability to be sarcastic. Even her voice softened.

"Does this happen... often?" she asked.

"Every day."

Sienna froze.

The energetic, puppy-like Jorrod had certainly developed an insatiable appetite once the floodgates were opened.

But sometimes, total honesty was just embarrassing.

"How did you deal with it before?"

"I just endured it, or took a cold shower."
