I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 130

Quickly, the dark eyes slowly calmed down, the unfulfilled desire completely buried back into their depths.

Jorrod's jaw was tight. Without saying a single word, he pulled her collar back into place, stood up, and drew the blanket over her shoulders.

He sat on the edge of the bed in dead silence for several seconds.

Sienna snuck a glance at him. From this angle, she could see his chest rising and falling heavily with his deep breaths.

Having to stop halfway must be incredibly painful for him. She felt awful about it and reached out a finger to poke him.

Before her finger even brushed his shirt, the man stood up and strode out of the room without ever looking back.

This time, Sienna was the one left completely frozen.

He left?

He actually left??

Just because she got her period, he walked out without even a backward glance???

Sienna aggressively rolled over, burying herself completely beneath the blankets.

Half an hour passed, and there was still no sound from the hallway.

She was absolutely certain Jorrod wasn't coming back.

Sienna never considered herself a crier, but tonight, something had struck a nerve. She felt incredibly sensitive. Curled up under the quiet, warm, yet deeply lonely covers, the more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. Unable to hold it in, hot tears silently soaked the pillow.

What a lust-driven jerk.

Aside from *that*, was there really nothing else left for them to talk about?

She suddenly sat up.

Sienna slapped her own cheeks in sheer frustration.

Stop crying! Stop crying! Stop crying!!

You're going to cry away all your good luck!!

Right at that exact moment, the bedroom door pushed open.

She whipped her head toward it.

The tear tracks on her face hadn't even been wiped away, catching the dim yellow light of the bedroom lamp. Jorrod froze in the doorway, snapping out of it a second later, and crossed the room in a few long strides.

He set the bowl he was holding onto the nightstand.

Leaning down, he gently wiped the tears from her face.

"What's wrong? Did the cramps make you cry?" His voice was incredibly soft, the profound tenderness in his tone sounding like sheer mockery to Sienna's ears.

What did he mean, cramps made her cry?

She was crying because she was furious!!

He had just stormed out without a word, and now he was acting like he cared so deeply about her.

Sienna refused to let him see her looking so pathetic and messy. She dodged his hand and aggressively scrubbed at her own tears. "I hate you."

"No need... I can do it myself..." Sienna took the bowl from him, scooped up a spoonful, and brought it to her mouth.

"It's actually the perfect temperature," she noted in surprise.

"Yeah. I was worried you'd burn your tongue, so I blew on it by the window for a while before bringing it in."

"Oh..." No wonder it took so long.

"Do you still hate me?" Jorrod asked softly.

Embarrassed, Sienna murmured a quiet, "No." She ducked her head, quickly finished the tonic in a few bites, and handed the empty bowl back. "All done."

Jorrod took the bowl and stood up. Just as he turned to leave, a hand suddenly caught the hem of his shirt.

He looked down.

The woman looked a bit bashful, her voice remarkably small. "Are you coming back?"

Maybe it was the bowl of warm soup settling in her stomach, but her cheeks were flushed a healthy, rosy pink from the steam.

Jorrod stared at her intensely, then unexpectedly threw the question back at her: "Do you want me to come back?"

Her cheeks burned even redder, her gaze darting away evasively. "I was just asking. It's up to you, obviously."

*So it wasn't the steam after all...* The corners of Jorrod's lips curved upward slightly. He gently squeezed the soft thumb still clutching his shirt, his tone unbelievably tender. "Yeah. Wait for me."

He added, "Because I want to."
