I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 140

There was a laptop in the bedroom.

Sienna usually used it a lot, but a few days ago, when Jorrod mentioned wanting to slowly re-familiarize himself with some of his pre-amnesia work, she had given it to him.

Sienna locked the door behind her, walked over to the edge of the bed, and set the plate down on the nightstand. She whispered, "My parents might stay a bit longer. Don't worry, it won't be too long."

Jorrod gave a brief nod and hummed in acknowledgment.

"It's been most of the day, you must be starving." Sienna picked up the plate and handed it to him. "I snuck this in so you could have something to hold you over. It's not hot anymore, but it's still warm."

Jorrod looked down at it. His long, thick lashes hid his eyes, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking.

Seeing his hesitation, Sienna thought he was grossed out by it.

She remembered this guy had somewhat of a germaphobia issue.

So, she quickly added, "It's just some leftovers from the pan. Don't worry, it's totally clean. Or... is the food just not to your liking?"

How could he ever be grossed out by her?

Her family would eventually be his family, so naturally, he wasn't opposed to it. It was just...

Jorrod looked up.

As their eyes met, his gaze looked undeniably conflicted.

He stayed silent for a few seconds before finally speaking. "Am I... supposed to eat with my hands?"

Sienna froze, looked down at the plate, and realization violently slammed into her.

She had been so focused on whether he was hungry or not.

She completely forgot to bring him a fork!

She slammed the plate down and sprang up. "I am so sorry, I'll go get one for you right now—"

Before Sienna could even steady her footing, a warm hand clamped tightly around her wrist. Without giving her a second to react, Jorrod pulled, and she stumbled backward, collapsing onto the edge of the bed as the soft mattress dipped beneath her weight.

"What are you—"

Jorrod didn't answer. One hand remained locked around her slender wrist while the other braced against the bed, leaning in closer.

His striking features magnified in her vision. His breath was scorching, brushing against her cheek and making her skin burn.

Even now, she still had absolutely zero immunity to that face.

Being stared at like this made her feel overwhelmingly self-conscious.

Sienna nervously averted her eyes and muttered, "I put makeup on today. Does it look weird?"

"No," Jorrod replied, his voice even lower, softer, and slightly husky. "You look beautiful."
