The residence Jorrod mentioned was a three-story villa.
It wasn't excessively large, but it was located near the business district, with all necessary amenities close by.
Just as he had promised, it was only a ten-minute drive from Stellaris Corp, making it far more convenient than her current apartment.
Aside from the two of them, the house was staffed by a few employees who handled Jorrod's daily meals and living arrangements.
Silas had assured her that Jorrod had employed these people for years, and they were completely trustworthy.
The older woman was the housekeeper, whom Sienna addressed as Susan.
There were also two younger staff members, a man and a woman, and Sienna wasn't quite sure how to address them at first.
The young man offered a polite smile. "Ms. Quinn, you can just call me Wesley."
The young woman quickly chimed in. "Ms. Quinn, I'm Stella."
Fortunately, their names were simple and easy to remember.
Sienna committed them to memory right away.
"Ms. Quinn, Wesley usually handles the cleaning of Mr. Vaughn's room and some of the more private, heavy-lifting tasks. If you ever need help with anything around the house, just call for Susan or me."
Stella had a pair of deep dimples on her round cheeks; her smile was sweet, and she spoke with genuine warmth.
Sienna immediately felt a sense of affection for the cheerful girl.
Once the couple walked away, Wesley pulled his gaze back and nudged Stella. "Are you trying to ice me out? When it comes to heavy lifting and moving things around, I'm definitely the better person to ask."
After all, he had been the one to carry Ms. Quinn's luggage inside when she arrived.
When Stella didn't respond, Wesley leaned in a half-step and whispered, "Hey, don't you think Ms. Quinn looks like some celebrity? I swear she looks so familiar."
Stella shot him a hard glare. "I don't know if Ms. Quinn looks like a celebrity, but you definitely look like a creep!"
Ever since he saw Sienna at the door, his eyes had practically been glued to her.
"Let me give you a piece of advice. That is Mr. Vaughn's girlfriend. Don't do anything stupid like trying to steal your boss's woman."
Wesley immediately panicked, his brows knitting together as he rushed to defend his innocence. "I just said she looked familiar! I didn't say anything else. How could I ever try to steal her away? Don't spout nonsense, what if Mr. Vaughn hears you?"
"Yeah, you can't steal her, because..." Stella's eyes crinkled in amusement. "You literally have zero chance."
-
Resting his jaw lightly against the top of her head, he asked softly, "Can I hold you?"
Sienna breathed in his scent, nodding against him before shaking her head. "There are too many people in the house. In the bedroom is fine, but not anywhere else."
No sooner had the words left her mouth than a gasp echoed from the doorway.
"Oh my god! Jorrod? Are you okay?"
Sienna was speechless.
"Not in the bedroom during the day, either..."
-
The intruder was Jorrod's cousin, Liana Lowell.
Liana was in her senior year of college. Because the villa had been empty but fully staffed, and because it was close to the company where she was interning, she had been borrowing the guest room on the second floor for the past few days.
She had run into Silas downstairs, which was how she found out what was going on.
Knowing that the young girl was close to Jorrod, Silas had given her a brief rundown of Jorrod's situation, explicitly telling her not to go spreading the news. Liana had been absolutely shocked.
