I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 154

The room fell utterly silent for several seconds.

Neither of them spoke, but neither drifted to sleep, still locked in the position where Jorrod had pinned her to the mattress.

Jorrod lowered his gaze, his pupils entirely filled with the face of the woman beneath him.

Sienna turned her head slightly, her eyes darting away.

Her mind was racing: *Why hasn't he gotten off me yet?*

Did she have to ask him to move?

But she had undeniably been neglecting him lately, and shoving him away now felt a bit cruel.

But if she didn't say something soon, she wouldn't be able to hold back much longer. He was heavy.

Sienna had been zoned out for too long when she suddenly heard the man's voice drift down from above.

"Sienna..."

His voice was incredibly husky in the quiet night.

"Yeah?"

Sienna turned her head back, crashing instantly into the man's deep, smoldering gaze.

Jorrod's Adam's apple bobbed. He stared at her intensely, his lips pressed tightly together as he remained silent.

Over the past few days, even though she had banned any heavy intimacy because of his back injury, there had been a few times when she couldn't resist his coaxing and let him kiss her.

But she had always maintained a strict boundary, never letting things escalate further.

Locked in his gaze, Jorrod didn't say a word, but Sienna could feel it.

The tips of her ears flushed a hot red. She mumbled a quick, flustered question, "Is your back fully healed?"

"Mhm."

Sienna no longer trusted a single word this man said in moments like this.

"Then I'm going to check."

At her request, Jorrod immediately complied.

He lifted his weight slightly, creating a small gap between their pressed chests. He pulled up the hem of his pajama shirt, exposing a stretch of taut, sculpted abs.

Though the room was dark, the nightlight provided enough illumination that she wasn't completely blind.

Jorrod's voice dropped to a low, gravelly rasp.

"Are you going to check my waist too?"

Called out directly, Sienna's cheeks flared bright red. She quickly tried to withdraw her hand, but halfway there, he caught it. He interlaced his fingers with hers, locking their hands together.

Jorrod descended swiftly, capturing her lips in a bruising kiss.

In the quiet bedroom, only the faint rustle of shifting fabric could be heard. After so much pent-up restraint, the moment he indulged himself, he was infinitely more aggressive than ever before. Sienna was left gasping for air between kisses.

Sensing her lips were getting a bit swollen, he trailed his kisses away, lingering along her jawline until he reached her earlobe.

His scalding breath ignited a trail of fire, carrying an overwhelming, predatory tension that made her melt completely.

Halfway through, Jorrod stopped. He raised himself slightly and reached for the drawer of the nightstand.

After a few seconds of rummaging, the movement abruptly ceased.

Confused, Sienna turned her head to look at him.

Seeing the man's indescribably complex expression, she asked in a soft, hazy voice, "What's wrong?"
