She heard him ask, "Do you like me?"
He must have asked that question at least ten times tonight.
Sienna gave him the same answer as before. She did.
But this time, he shot her a dark glance and added a new question.
"How much do you like me?"
Sienna suddenly found the words caught in her throat.
"Hmm? Why so quiet?"
"Stop asking..."
Jorrod didn't press further.
He released her hair, his hand sliding smoothly back down to her waist.
Then, he lowered his head, his warm lips pressing against her skin.
Right over the exact spot where she had bitten him before.
And then, he bit down hard.
He was returning the favor.
"Jor— mmm..." Before Sienna could finish her sentence, a sharp, searing pain instantly replaced his deceptive tenderness.
She threw her head back, her brows knitting together in sheer agony as involuntary tears spilled from her eyes, streaming down her cheeks.
"It hurts! That hurts!"
He actually bit her!
The man who usually frowned in distress if she so much as stubbed her toe was sinking his teeth into her!
And he was doing it with a ruthless, unforgiving intensity.
After a night of his bizarre, violent mood swings, Sienna was already harboring a simmering resentment.
This brutal bite tipped her over the edge. Furious, she smacked and clawed at his heavily muscled back, even pulling his hair.
"Jorrod Vaughn!! Get off! Get off me right now!"
He completely ignored her. Like a predator locking its jaws around its prey, his biting and sucking only grew more ferocious.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the line.
Silas had been extremely confused, especially after the loud clatter of the phone hitting the floor, followed by dead silence.
Left with no other option, he pressed the phone tightly to his ear.
Faintly, he heard a cry of pain, followed by a woman's angry protests, all tangled up with a man's heavy, suppressed groans.
It was a voice he recognized all too well.
"..."
In a flash, Silas's face turned as black as a thundercloud.
From the forgotten phone under the bed.
His voice finally erupted.
Neither of them heard it, nor did they care, as his furious scream echoed faintly against the floorboards.
"Jorrod, you absolute bastard!!! Did you really have to answer the phone right now?!"
