Liana didn't look up, but she could feel Jorrod's eyes on her.
His emotionless gaze bore into her, carrying an inexplicable, suffocating pressure that made her scalp tingle.
"Never mention this again."
His words were as freezing as his stare. Crushed by the sheer weight of his authority, Liana slowly nodded.
She kept her head down, picking at her fingernails.
Once she sensed his gaze shift away, she stole a quick glance in his direction.
She had been completely paralyzed by one simple sentence, while he had already gone back to scrolling through work emails on his phone.
Liana felt angry and humiliated.
She managed to whisper one last petty remark.
"I wouldn't mention it even if you begged me. I wouldn't want Sienna's new boyfriend to get jealous."
Before Jorrod could glare at her again, Liana spun on her heels and bolted upstairs.

Over the past few days, Sienna had been keeping a close eye on her apartment's renovation progress.
The contractor had originally promised one to two weeks, and they were finally nearing the finish line.
The foreman she had added on WeChat practically swore to her.
Just two more days. Just wait a little longer, and she could move back in.
Stellaris Corp had a designated lounge area for employees to nap. While the conditions were basic, Sienna wasn't high-maintenance. Roughing it out for a few days was fine, and it let her sleep in and recharge.
Early the next morning.
The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon, casting thin, pale rays of light. The office building was still cloaked in the dim haze of dawn.
The best part about sleeping at the office was completely eliminating her commute.
Sienna slept until she naturally woke up, took her time getting ready in the office bathroom, and still had plenty of time to grab a leisurely breakfast nearby.
Her usual breakfast spot was packed, so she grabbed a bagel and coffee to go.
Jorrod was dressed less formally today, wearing a soft, structured charcoal wool sweater that stopped right below his Adam's apple. He had a tailored black trench coat draped over it, the crisp cut accentuating his tall, imposing figure and making him look even more aloof and aristocratic.
From start to finish, he stood quietly in the corner of the elevator, his heavy-lidded eyes casting a flat, indifferent glance her way before looking straight ahead. He didn't say a word.
They were the only two people in the spacious elevator.
Standing behind her, he had a perfect, unobstructed view.
Sienna had tied her hair into a casual half-updo. She was wearing a beautifully draped white blouse tucked into light blue jeans—a simple, effortless outfit she favored for both comfort and professionalism.
Jorrod slightly lowered his eyes.
His gaze landed perfectly on the back of her neck.
Sienna had been rushing, causing the collar of her white blouse to fall open slightly. Static electricity made a few stray strands of hair cling to her neck, the dark, rich black sharply contrasting against her incredibly luminous skin.
It was flawlessly fair and radiant.
Just like that day.
But she was so delicate that a simple press of his fingers would instantly leave bright, flushed marks on her skin in protest, mapping out the undeniable shape of his claim.
