I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 2

To her dismay, Jorrod didn't take her seriously at all. He arched an eyebrow and let out a soft chuckle, as if he had just heard a highly amusing joke.

His lips curved slightly. "And? Did you come here today to tell me you were conned by your boyfriend, hoping I'd play the judge and serve justice?"

Sienna wanted to retract her earlier thought about him being handsome.

He was a stunning man, ruined entirely by his mouth.

She answered patiently once again. "You misunderstand, Mr. Vaughn. I merely hope you'll investigate the truth, discipline the plagiarist, restore the original creator's reputation, and eliminate a massive risk for Stellaris."

His dark eyes locked onto her as he stood up.

He was incredibly tall, standing at nearly six-foot-two. Even when he was seated, Sienna had felt an uncomfortable, overbearing pressure from him.

Now that he was on his feet, his broad figure completely blocked the light in front of her.

His handmade black leather shoes clicked sharply against the marble floor until he stopped right in front of the toes of her cream-colored sneakers.

People typically observed a natural zone of personal space.

He stood so close that if she just tilted her head slightly, she might bump into his chin.

His imposing presence in the tailored suit was intimidating enough from a distance, but up close, Sienna felt entirely enveloped by him, the sensation almost suffocating.

She unconsciously took a half-step back.

Suddenly, Jorrod raised his hand, his long fingers pinching her design draft.

With a light pull and a simple release, he let it go.

The pages Sienna treated as her ultimate treasure.

The very lines and strokes that carried countless sleepless nights.

Fluttered down like pieces of trash, scattering across the floor at his feet.

Jorrod's expression was freezing, his voice plunging her into an ice bucket.

"Ms. Quinn, this is neither a relationship counseling center nor an eye clinic. If you were blind enough to pick the wrong man, go cry somewhere else. Don't bring your pathetic scraps of garbage here to pollute my sight."

By her sides, her hands slowly balled into fists.
