I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 242

It was an absolute fixation. She had to see him with her own eyes to finally let it go.

"What do you think is more appealing to Rena? Sienna's boyfriend or the winning lottery numbers?"

"The lottery is worth millions of dollars. But for Rena, Sienna's boyfriend definitely takes the prize."

Rena ignored their sarcastic remarks. "He's going to be here soon. Just wait and see."

"And Mr. Vaughn is going to show up too. I called him to pay our bill," a coworker joked, completely dismissing her. After dropping the punchline, she went right back to figuring out the ride situation.

Mindy gently poked Sienna's arm and whispered in her ear, "Sienna, how are you getting home? Are you waiting for Janice's husband, or are we grabbing a cab together?"

Sienna didn't lift her head. She just flopped an arm in the air and mumbled thickly, "Grab Janice's husband."

"..."

Mindy frowned deeply. "You really didn't even drink that much... Whatever. I'll just text Janice's husband for your address. He's dropped you off before, and I have no idea where you live."

Getting a coherent address out of Sienna right now was a lost cause.

The crowd in the private room thinned out.

A few of the girls headed to the restroom together, leaving only Rena, Mindy, and Sienna in the room. Rena stood up, walked over behind Mindy, and tapped her on the shoulder.

Mindy looked up, startled by the terrifying intensity on Rena's face. "Are... are you riding back with me?"

Rena leaned down and whispered a few words directly into her ear.

Mindy's eyes blew wide in sheer horror. She nearly leaped out of her chair.

Without wasting a second, she lunged for Sienna's phone on the table, frantically jabbing at the screen with shaking fingers.

The screen was black. It demanded a passcode.

Mindy had previously just thought Rena was annoying and overly nosy. She never imagined—she never could have imagined that Rena would actually...

"Stop trying. It's locked. I sent it minutes ago. Even if you unlock it, you can't unsend it," Rena stated coldly.

Mindy slammed her hands on the table and shot up, her eyes blazing with absolute fury. "Are you out of your mind?! Stealing someone's phone to send a text? You're a psycho!"

Rena didn't flinch. "I didn't look at anything else. I just sent a message to the pinned contact and closed the app."

Mindy was so livid she was practically seeing stars. "How the hell do you know that's her boyfriend? Maybe she pins her best friend!"
