A voice floated down from above, light but carrying the weight of a crushing blow against his spine.
"Going back? I already sent a copy of this exact file to your architectural firm. I imagine they're reviewing it as we speak."
"I also contacted your landlord. They are currently packing up your belongings."
"As for blind dating, don't even think about it. The name Caleb Foster has been permanently blacklisted from every major platform."
Caleb still had no idea who this man was or why he had gone to such terrifying lengths to destroy everything he had built.
Looking up from the floor, Caleb saw the man leaning down from his chair, staring at him with bone-chilling coldness.
"Who exactly did you just call a psycho?"
The thin, pristine lenses of his glasses did an excellent job of masking the absolute frost in his eyes. Those dark irises held zero emotion, yet they sent a paralyzing shiver straight down Caleb's spine.
"Apologize."
Caleb stared up in terror. The oppressive weight radiating from that single word forced his lips to tremble. "I-I'm sorry."
Jorrod lifted his head, his gaze sweeping over the table to look at Sienna.
Sienna was purely there for the show. She had no intention of interjecting unless absolutely necessary.
She remained silent.
Jorrod lowered his eyes back to the floor. "She didn't accept."
To an observer, Jorrod hadn't moved an inch, but Caleb felt the pressure on his hand intensify into a sharp ache. He quickly tried again. "I'm sorry, Ms. Quinn. I shouldn't have lied to you with fake credentials, and I shouldn't have cursed at you when I got defensive. I'm sorry. Please... please forgive me."
He had been an arrogant jerk from the start, and now he was exposed as a complete fraud.
