I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 309

Jorrod's hospitalization wasn't reported to his family.

He didn't even change into a hospital gown, opting to stay in his usual work clothes to easily move around the hospital and occasionally visit his grandfather.

However, Sienna had mentioned it to Silas Lester.

Of all the people she knew, Silas was the closest to Jorrod.

The moment Silas heard the news, he rushed straight to the hospital.

In the hospital room, Jorrod was working on the sofa. With his calm, focused demeanor, he hardly looked like someone ordered to be hospitalized by a doctor. He looked more like a visiting family member who couldn't put down his busy work.

Only his complexion, slightly paler than usual, barely convinced anyone that he was actually sick.

Jorrod looked up, saw who had entered, and immediately looked back down.

"..."

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? Are you disappointed it's me?"

"Not entirely."

"..." Silas couldn't be bothered to argue with him.

This was the second day of Jorrod's hospital stay.

Silas had specifically brought him food from a new restaurant he'd tried a few days ago. The flavors were relatively mild, perfect for a sick friend.

He hadn't planned on staying long.

The company still needed him, and seeing that his friend wasn't in dire straits put his mind at ease. He intended to leave right after dropping off the meal.

But right before he left, Silas casually mentioned, "I ran into Sienna in the lobby downstairs."

He watched as the man, whose eyes had been glued to his work and oblivious to the world, suddenly looked up.

Silas continued, "She asked me how you were doing. I told her I just got here and didn't know yet."

The man completely stopped what he was doing and turned to look at him.

Knowing he had caught his interest, Silas added, "She was carrying an insulated lunchbox. Looked like she was bringing you food, probably homemade."

Jorrod was silent for two seconds before turning back to his screen, offering a simple, "Hmm."

Silas chuckled.
