I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 308

The worst-case scenario was that he'd just have to call the guy in for frequent check-ups.

Dr. Sterling sighed. "Fine. Whether it's hospitalization or a prescription, could the person actually in charge here give me a straight answer?"

Jorrod retracted his gaze, his expression composed as he said flatly, "I'll be admitted."

Surprised by the answer, Dr. Sterling couldn't help but shoot Sienna another glance.

The young woman remained expressionless, looking exactly like an office worker accompanying her boss to a check-up. But considering how obedient this stubborn man was acting—her casual suggestion trumping all of his earnest medical advice—it certainly didn't look like he was treating her like an ordinary employee.

Exhaustion finally catching up to her, Sienna told Jorrod she was heading back to get some sleep.

She barely took a step before her arm was caught.

Through her sleeve, a hand loosely encircled her arm—a grip meant to keep her from leaving without causing her any pain.

Sienna looked down.

Affected by the high fever, the man's hand was exceptionally pale, with only his knuckles flushed a sickly pink.

"Will you come see me?"

Sienna's default response to Jorrod was rejection. She looked up, crashing into the man's downward gaze. His eyes were pitch-black, dark as ink, devoid of any light.

Sienna pursed her lips and changed her mind. "Tomorrow."

Right as Dr. Sterling was about to clock out, Jorrod sought him out again.

It was about whether his back would scar.

Dr. Sterling sighed, unable to hold it in any longer. "You're worried about scarring, yet you repeatedly ignore medical advice and get it wet? You never listen. You only know to swerve after the crash, only know to chase after your wife when she's already gone. What were you doing before? Next time..."
