I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 327

Sienna didn't push him away, but she didn't respond either.

The quiet of the night was slowly filled by the sound of their breathing. She lay completely still, two bodies that were once so intimately familiar finally pressed together again. She could clearly feel the steady rise and fall of his chest, his heartbeat feeling as if it were echoing inside her own ribcage.

Jorrod was holding her incredibly tight.

His jaw rested gently against the crook of her neck, his breath scorching as it puffed rhythmically against her skin. The darkness amplified her senses, and half her body went entirely numb as a trail of goosebumps erupted along her neck.

His arm was locked tightly around her waist, his palm burning hot against her.

Sienna rested her hand over his, pinching one of his fingers, lifting his hand, and trying to move it further away.

The very next second, that hand clamped back down—tighter, closer, and somehow even hotter than before.

She let out a heavy sigh. "Too hot."

Instantly, the arm around her waist loosened just a fraction, and the heavy grip of his hand shifted to a lighter, more tentative hold, as if he were terrified of making her uncomfortable.

Sienna figured she would just wait until he fell asleep to stealthily remove his arm.

But it turned out his arm was equipped with an automatic tracking system. Every time she pushed it away, it instantly wrapped right back around her.

By the early hours of the morning, she was too exhausted to keep her eyes open. Whatever, she didn't care anymore. She just needed to sleep.

Early the next morning, when Sienna realized she was still cocooned in his arms, she briefly wondered if she was still dreaming.

As the last traces of sleep faded and clarity returned, she finally remembered Jorrod's bold move from the night before.

At least he remembered how to hold someone. Progress, she supposed.

But it felt like they were progressing in a completely skewed direction.

She turned over. They were pressed so close that, even through layers of fabric, her back rubbed firmly against his chest. The movement instantly jolted him awake.

His dark, narrow eyes slowly opened halfway, squinting against the lingering exhaustion.

The silhouette of the woman in front of him gradually sharpened into focus.

Jorrod opened his mouth, then frowned.

He looked as if he wanted to say something, but couldn't figure out what to call her.
