Sienna raised an eyebrow.
Watching the man bear the humiliation with a heavy burden, she suddenly remembered the arrogant look he had when they first met, the guy who couldn't even be bothered to lift his eyelids.
The same face from her memory and her vision overlapped incongruously.
Inexplicably, she wanted to speak.
Sienna let out an "oh" and said, "Forget it, I changed my mind. I feel like it's too unfair to you."
Jorrod never thought in his life that he would do something so morally bankrupt, bottomless, and despised by others, let alone fight for the chance to do it.
He had just made up his mind to be her clandestine lover, but in the blink of an eye, she changed her mind just like that.
He almost laughed out of anger, staring intently at her. "Who told you I felt it was unfair?"
"Isn't it?"
"I'm... extremely happy."
The words were practically squeezed through his back teeth.
Sienna still shook her head. "It's also really unfair to him. Forget it."
Jorrod took a deep breath and leaned in closer, his figure and breath descending upon her. Sienna instinctively leaned back, only to be supported by his arm around her waist.
"I'm the one intruding, I'm the one wronging him. These are all things I should be considering."
His voice was low and husky, the words rolling slowly from his throat. They were so close that Sienna could even feel the slight vibration against her chest with every word he spoke.
"You can't take back what you've already said."
Sienna looked up. His chest heaved in front of her, and his dark pupils reflected her face.
His tone brooked no refusal and seemed incredibly dominant, but a subtle tension still leaked out through his breathing.
Sienna raised her right hand and touched the man's face.
Jorrod froze slightly.
Then, she suddenly stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek.
The brows that had been knitted tightly together instantly relaxed.
The woman retreated as soon as she kissed him, leaving only a warm, soft sensation on his cheek. Jorrod stared at her for two seconds. In her watery, rippling eyes that met his gaze, he saw his own face.
In that face, there was no longer a loss of control or suppression, but a very real sense of possession in the present moment.
His Adam's apple bobbed, his eyes darkened abruptly, and he cupped her chin, lowering his head.
