I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 344

The streetlights glowed outside, but they were sparse and scattered, barely enough to pierce the heavy, curtain-like darkness of the night.

The window glass blurred the view, but she could just make out what looked like a faint, confident smile playing on Jorrod's lips.

Uncertain, she casually pushed the window open.

Instantly, a biting gust of winter wind slipped through the crack, tossing the loose strands of hair around her forehead.

At that exact moment, Jorrod looked down at his phone.

Sienna received a message almost immediately.

w.: [It's cold. Close the window.]

Sienna shut it, leaning her shoulder against the glass.

A Bowl of Millet: [Why are you here?]

w.: [My banishment was lifted. I came to see you.]

A Bowl of Millet: [We literally see each other every day at the office.]

w.: [At the office, I only get to hear 'Mr. Vaughn.' I don't really like it.]

A Bowl of Millet: [What's wrong with Mr. Vaughn? It sounds so high and mighty.]

w.: [I don't like it. I'd much rather have you on top of me.]

Sienna's eye twitched.

She spent a solid ten seconds staring at the screen.

Trying to figure out if that carried the exact filthy double meaning she thought it did.

She chose not to reply.

Feeling a sudden urge to use the restroom, Sienna slipped out of her bedroom.

When she returned, her feet carried her to the window out of pure instinct. To her shock, Jorrod was still standing out there in the freezing cold, his broad shoulders facing away from her as he held his phone to his ear.

She thought about it for a second, then grabbed a coat from the closet and threw it over her pajamas. On her way out the door, she made sure to grab the trash bag from the bin.

In the living room, her parents were curled up on the sofa and glanced over at her.

Feeling guilty, Sienna held up the black plastic bag. "Yeah, just taking out the trash."

George popped his head up in disbelief. "Is this still my incredibly lazy daughter who refuses to stand if she can sit, and refuses to sit if she can lie down?"
