After her parents left.
Sienna sat on the sofa, staring at the mountain of homemade food on the coffee table, letting the quiet wash over her.
The events of the past few days felt suffocating.
The boyfriend who betrayed her, the amnesiac enemy who was now clinging to her.
It felt like a cheap soap opera.
But real life didn't come with a script. It was just a messy, exhausting disaster that left her utterly drained.
He was wrapping around her, suffocating and infuriating.
Once she finally calmed her nerves, she walked over and knocked on the bathroom door.
"Jorrod, come out."
The man inside had been waiting for a long time, as if permanently on standby for her orders.
Before she could even turn around, the lock clicked.
The door swung open.
Sienna hadn't quite adjusted to having a man in her house. His towering figure caught her completely off guard.
She froze.
He stood perfectly straight. The black turtleneck she had given him was meant for her father, but on Jorrod, the thin fabric clung tight to his body, highlighting every sharp, rigid line of his chest and abdomen. The collar was slightly unbuttoned, exposing a sliver of pale skin and his Adam's apple.
The shirt was incredibly fitted. The sleeves gripped his muscular arms perfectly, putting his broad shoulders and narrow waist on full display.
The dark slacks hugged his long legs, making the pale skin of his wrists look even more striking.
Paired with that devastatingly handsome face.
Sienna actually swallowed hard.
Did these clothes shrink in the wash? How were they so tight...
She quickly averted her gaze. "Button your collar."
She turned to leave, but he caught her wrist. She looked back, her eyes trailing up his arm.
Sienna pulled her arm away. "What are you doing?"
Jorrod finally spoke. "Sienna, I will never hate you. Please, don't kick me out, okay?"
Sienna was getting used to these random, out-of-nowhere confessions.
She met his gaze seriously. "Then keep your distance. I don't like it when you grab me all the time."
Jorrod slowly let go, lowering his eyelashes as he pressed his lips together in silence.
Sienna gave him one last look and retreated to her room.
As she turned away, she squeezed her eyes shut, her cheeks burning.
Buttoning it up somehow made it even worse.

Dinner was the homemade feast Lillian had explicitly packed for her daughter and son-in-law.
