I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 382

She distinctly remembered never mentioning that to him.

Suddenly, the image of that small Sandalwood Gourd flashed in her mind.

"Oh! I get it. I returned that little gourd to you before, so you guessed it, right?"

Jorrod gave her a long, unreadable look. "Not entirely."

Sienna blinked, tilting her head to stare at the flawless profile of the man's face.

"What, don't tell me you remembered everything on your own."

She watched as a faint curve seemed to ripple across his lips.

Sienna abruptly sat up straight.

Her eyes wide, she lost her voice for a long moment before stuttering out a question.

"Y-y-you really remembered?!"

"W-w-why didn't you tell me?!"

Jorrod didn't answer directly, merely wearing a soft smile as he teased, "I was afraid that if you got too excited, you'd start stuttering again."

For a long while, Jorrod didn't hear a response from the passenger seat.

He subconsciously glanced over.

His heart instantly skipped a beat, his expression turning somber as his smile vanished completely.

Hitting the brakes, he slowly pulled the car over to the side of the road.

"Why are you crying?"

Jorrod was clearly panicking. Frowning, he leaned over and carefully wiped away her tears.

"Are you upset that I kept it from you? I just wanted to give you a surprise."

Sienna pressed her lips together, her tears falling like a broken string of pearls, refusing to stop.

She didn't want him to see her like this, but he gently gripped her shoulders.

As for the crying, she couldn't even explain the reason for her tears herself.

But right now, a heavy lump had formed in her throat, and the tears kept pouring out. It felt like only by sobbing out loud could she release the complex, overwhelming emotions suffocating her heart.

She cried so hard she could barely catch her breath, unable to speak a single word. She just turned her face away, trying to hide her vulnerability in the shadows.

Beside her, the man continued to comfort her in a soft voice, repeatedly admitting he was wrong. Terrified she was upset with him, he confessed the entire process like he was giving a police report, not daring to hide a single detail.

"I didn't sneak behind your back to stop treatment. It was that day I took you to the convenience store, and when we came back that night, we made love the entire time..."

Sienna weakly swatted his shoulder.

"When we came back that night, we did that the entire time. Then the next day, I dropped you off at the airport. A long time after you left, I suddenly remembered bits and pieces."

"But it was very blurry and unclear. It wasn't until a few days later, when I threw away a tie. It was... a brand I normally wouldn't buy for myself."
