She rattled off her address. "Mr. Lester, I'll be waiting for you. I'll explain everything once you get here."
The moment the call ended, Silas sprinted out of his office and floored it straight to the address she had provided.
His heart pounded with a mix of panic and urgency, tearing down the highway at reckless speeds.
During the drive, countless terrifying scenarios played out in his mind.
But he never could have anticipated the truth.
His famously brilliant and calculating friend was suffering from severe amnesia.
Silas stared at the scene unfolding before him, his eyes practically bugging out of his skull. His jaw hit the floor, struggling to close.
The man he had always assumed was born without an emotional core was currently clinging to the woman in front of him, staring at her with unabashed obsession and total dependency.
Yet, when those dark eyes flicked over to Silas, they held nothing but hostility and icy detachment.
Silas felt a chill run down his spine.
Usually laid-back, Silas went into full panic mode. He aggressively pointed at himself, scrambling to trigger his best friend's dormant memories.
"It's me! Silas Lester! Your best friend! Are you seriously telling me you don't remember?"
In response, Jorrod frowned, gripped Sienna's arm, and subtly took half a step behind her back.
Silas felt like he had been transported to another dimension. He never imagined he would live to see the day Jorrod Vaughn cowardly hid behind a woman, let alone see pure, unadulterated fear on the devil's face.
Consoling him was basically muscle memory for Sienna at this point.
She patted the hand wrapped around her arm and explained the situation to Silas. "It's been a little over half a month since the accident. He was evaluated at the hospital, so don't worry, there's no fatal damage. The trauma is only temporary. While his memory hasn't returned, his cognitive levels are steadily balancing out. With proper rest, he'll regain everything sooner or later."
Silas immediately caught the keywords. "Hospital? Who else knows about this?"
"Don't worry. It's a private hospital owned by a friend's family. Right now, my friend and I are the only ones who know the CEO of Stellaris Corp was in an accident."
Her implication was crystal clear: her lips were sealed. Aside from them, nobody knew Jorrod had lost his mind.
Silas exhaled a sharp breath of relief, but a few seconds later, his anxiety spiked once more.
He scanned his friend up and down, his gaze brimming with sheer worry.
Silas was intimately aware of the Vaughn family's vicious internal politics. The Patriarch had always despised Jorrod pouring all his energy into Stellaris Corp. If the old man found out that Stellaris was the reason Jorrod had ended up in this state...
