I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 60

Instead, he was surprisingly unbothered.

Silas lowered his gaze, rubbing his chin thoughtfully for a moment before looking back up. "Why don't we just let Jorrod keep staying here with you?"

Sienna's eyes bugged out of her head.

A wave of absolute shock rendered her speechless.

She nearly thought her ears were broken. "Stay where?"

Ignoring her horrified expression, Silas began listing out his logic perfectly. "Look, right now you are the only person he listens to. If I force him to leave, it might trigger a severe psychological backlash. It's safer for his recovery if he stays here. Once he gets his memories back, I'm sure he'll be incredibly grateful to you."

Sienna stared at him in sheer disbelief. "Why the hell would I want his gratitude? I'll be thanking my lucky stars if he just doesn't sue me!"

Silas already knew about the lawsuit. "Look, I know how he comes across, but there's a shred of humanity buried deep down in him. Once this is all over, there's no way he'll sue you."

Sienna was speechless.

Seriously, what kind of logic was this?

She was supposed to exhaust herself babysitting this billionaire tyrant just so he would magically discover his humanity and spare her in court?

"Absolutely not."

Silas doubled down on the emotional angle. "Actually, Ms. Quinn, before the accident, Jorrod did take your words to heart."

Sienna scoffed loudly. "To heart? You mean to the courthouse."

Silas pushed back. "That plagiarist you accused? The company investigated it and fired him immediately. Jorrod orchestrated the whole thing."

Sienna froze. She genuinely hadn't expected that. On the night of the accident, Jorrod had never even mentioned it to her.

As for Liam Carter, he had completely vanished from her life since then, so she had no idea he had been terminated.

Still, Sienna remained entirely rational. A single decent act wasn't going to erase how unbelievably arrogant and venomous Jorrod had been from the start.

She looked down for a second. "That was just him doing his job."

Silas paced in circles, a massive headache brewing.

Jorrod had become a literal hot potato. He refused to leave, and Sienna refused to keep him.

Realizing the diplomatic approach was dead, Silas immediately switched tactics. "Ms. Quinn, before coming here, I had my people run a background check. You... recently lost your job, right?"

Sienna went completely stiff.

"None of your business."

"...Unbelievable. Tossing out your friends for a woman? When you finally wake up, I can't wait to see you bring her into the family."

"I don't need your permission to marry Darling."

"Oh, brilliant! If you don't marry her, you're a complete bastard!!"

"The only bastard here is you. Now get the hell out of his and her place."

Silas's face went beet red. "Jorrod! You son of a bitch! I can't believe that car didn't kill you!"

The two grown men were bickering like elementary school children.

Sienna had been silently enjoying the show, but the moment they started screaming about marriage, she couldn't take it anymore.

She dragged the massive man blocking her path. "Alright, enough, stop talking. Go inside and wait for me."

Jorrod's frown didn't budge. He gripped Sienna's wrist tightly, veins bulging along his forearm, completely unwilling to leave his Darling alone to fend off the creepy stranger.

"I'm fine, don't worry." Seeing his stubborn resistance, Sienna didn't give him a choice, shoving him back inside and shutting the door with a sharp click.
